Things seem to have calmed down a bit.

The protests are larger now but also calmer. Cops are either unable or unwilling to disperse the larger crowds. (Usually they do it by dividing them and breaking them into manageable chunks with multiple advances/retreats, so maybe they're unable to do that with these crowds.) It helps that the projectile throwing at the cops is way down.
Not seeing a lot of looting right now. It's unclear whether this is because there's fewer looters, fewer places left to hit, or just people have been warned to stop filming and posting it. The mini race war in Chicago seems to be over, as the gangs called a truce and are keeping looters out of the neighborhoods.
I will say over the last day we've seen a marked turn against the looters from the protesters, and scapegoating Antifa for some of it. That's good news, in the sense that it's what they should've been doing from the start instead of justifying the destruction as righteous black mourning. But I'm not convinced it's an organic reduction in destruction. It might just be BLM organizers getting a grasp on their optics.
It feels like there's a next phase coming up, either another spurt of violence triggered by some bit of news, or triggered by them finally moving into suburbs. Or maybe the next phase is just calm as they consolidate the concessions from the cucked mayors.
And FWIW I think Trump has repeated what he did with Covid: successfully passed the buck for enforcement to the state and local governments. He targeted Antifa, threatened to use the Army, postured at the governors... and didn't actually exercise any federal power. He cleared out St John's for a photo op, beefed up the White House security (which was the flash point in DC), and then... things got quiet.
That story isn't over yet, but if things wind down without him deploying US troops outside of DC (which is the only place he can put them on his own command), then I think he threaded the needle through a tricky situation pretty well.

To be completely honest, I've felt like on the verge of tears the past few days.
People in my circle who've barely said anything political before this are just constantly posting these epithets- "Silence is violence" et al, and I've seen people getting called out for posting food pictures to their instagrams instead of those silly black boxes.
I don't really have anyone I can bring this stuff up to IRL, not in any honest way, at least.
It feels like we're in the middle of a paradigm shift. and not one for the better.

Professional athletes and organizations all seem to be on the same page in that you race doesn't matter nor does your background and Titus is a great example of this. I have seen a push in allowing athletes to just be people who happen to make a living for being motivated to be the best, yes some athletes have a gift but a vast major spent years of hard work just to get a shot at making it.

Minneapolis (pop: over 400.000) is comparable in population size to Nuremberg (pop: over 500.000) which pays its city council members exactly 20.196 euros anually.

Many people in Northern Ireland have a tendency to blindly identify with whatever/whomever is perceived as the underdog. You can find pubs in Northern Ireland with a ton of PLO/miscellaneous Palestine stuff (flags, murals, etc), even if the owner and/or patrons know fuck-all about Palestine or the Levant more generally. It's just a generic anti-authority, anti-imperial symbol for them. I think the same thing may be happening here.
