Things look bad, I agree. But I think there is still some room for hope here. I really doubt most people would support disbanding the police, but that's their starting demand. Under that slogan, they may shift funding to social work and form community partnerships for responding with less violence to the small everyday confrontations, while retaining a police force for greater escalation. Gonna work? Maybe, maybe not, but it's not necessarily synonymous with complete lawlessness. Sure, I think the proper response to terrorists demanding you disarm is "lol fuck you" instead of meeting halfway, but you can't win every battle.
The mobs are probably gonna get that professor, unfortunately.
CNN etc will continue to spread their lies and hate, and many of our friends and loved ones will continue to lap it up, just like we keep doing the same on this thread. Some of them will successfully be radicalized to the point where you lose them, and some will recognize that some things are more important than politics.
There's no way the abrupt change in messaging on COVID isn't going to redpill a ton of people, and at least plant the seeds of doubt.
Remember that ultimately this is to at least some extent a scripted event being manipulated to make you afraid and angry, and thus more easy to control.
Can't help with the love, friends, or a place to belong. These days those seem to be contingent on your compliance with believing in the tribal religion, which has successfully been hijacked. Having your own opinion is often expensive and lonely.
EDIT: Forget about the military coup -- it's not happening. Remember the Bonus Army? They will follow legal orders, and Trump isn't going to be stupid enough to issue illegal orders, mostly because he has no need to -- he wants the peace kept using minimum force, and only as permitted by law, not peaceful protestors being shot.
