Its weird how so many Japanese companies are making statements and donating when they have like 10 black people in their whole country?
Like everyone else has pointed out, it's the American branches of Japanese companies that are mostly doing this, and the main HQ's in Japan are just nodding off and letting them do their thing because they don't want to lose out on the American market and it's not in their backyard.
Nearly all of the BLM protestors in Tokyo were foreigners and I wouldn't be surprised if the suits in Japan at least have some idea of how bad things are in America with the culture wars. This is especially true for the game companies like Square Enix and Capcom thanks to groups like Sony of America.
They don't want to get involved in that shit and risk the corporate establishment in the US going after them more. SJW's already hate anime and weeb games for the most part as it is.
My Hero Academia gets a pass because capeshit, Kingdom Hearts gets a pass because Disney, and Sailor Moon only gets a pass because nostalgia and because of the two lesbians. Everything else is seen as "problematic" stuff for the "chuds"
If the coup fails and the corporations start retracting or memory holing as much of their BLM stuff as they can get away with, then expect the Japanese companies to start implementing a few regime changes for their American divisions.
They're the ones most likely to issue official retraction statements in this kind of hypothetical scenario, most of the other companies and brands will just delete their more egregious stuff and try to memory hole it and act like it never happened.
