I gotta admit, it stings a bit. I really enjoy LGR's content. A little while ago, I found a submission on one of the communist subreddits asking people for recommendations on non political content made by "not shitty" people who have leftist values. LGR was brought up and the commenter said that he had seen LGR donate to some kind of left-wing organization live on a stream and then interacted with the chat. I scoffed at this, but it seems like it might be true.

For anyone who doesn't know, this is Lazy Game Reviews (LGR). He makes videos about old computers, old computer accessories and old computer software. He is one of the bigger names in the hobby and has 1.37 million youtube subscribers.

What a shame.
I hope that at least The 8-Bit Guy will stay based.

I'm sure it varies by region but where I grew up in the midwest, despite the persistent kitschy connotations in wider culture, it was tacitly recognized as the "fuck niggers" flag.

ICP made that "Fuck Your Rebel Flag" song in like 1992 and OutKast had one complaining about it flying over the Georgia Dome a year or two later.

True, and there were different common sentiments to the Confederate flag in certain regions like the Midwest and most of the Northeast with the noted exceptions of rural Pennsylvania and West Virginia* (ironic given that both were fiercely pro-Union in the war) and in the black community back then.

But in the South and in the wider country as a whole, it was more campy redneck kitsch than anything else.

*-West Virginia is listed as Northeast simply because it was a Union state. Depending on who you ask in real life, it's either the southernmost Northern state, the northernmost Southern state, or the easternmost Midwestern state.
