The Last of Us Franchise - Because it's apparently a franchise now. This thread has been double-DMCA’d by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

Wth even is the appeal to this "grim dark" crap? Like really. At least in say something like say Twilight Princess, Lord of the Rings, or say Disney's the Hunchback of Notre Dame things can go from light-hearted gay revelry to dark every now and then, but with this kind of crap it's sort of the opposite. It's like the "light" are just pauses in between from the story getting "darker". I don't understand it.

This is actually one of the reasons I grew to detest GoT, because there wasn't any point of caring about the characters whether its because they got killed off or because the plot required some dumb "shock" value death/betrayal. That and making every third character a jaded cynical asshole.

Much like comic books in the 90's, I think this is another resurgence of immature hacks conflating "realism" with "bleakness, violence, and gratuitous gore".
Times like this makes me glad grim dark is mocked by fans especially when every character being an asshole is always confused for being realistic

Was this mentioned before? A composer by the name of Anna Lynn-williams claimed that the new TLOU2 promotion used her cover version of the song True Faith. So what happened? The promotion video was pulled offline. Is nobody competent left to avoid this issues?
She deleted her tweets because she got dogpilled by crazy ND stans. Funny how one of the biggest gaming studios didn't bother to create an original song for the game and used a cover of a cover by an unknown artist who legally can't demand to be credited because she doesn't own the rights. But then again Neil can't even pay his own employees

True Faith didn't deserve to be associated with this.
I wasn't aware it's an 80s song. Lol. Than again half the songs used games trailers i wasn't aware were remixes of 80s songs. What's next? A moodier cover to daddy by korn?

Meh I'm only asking sense when in the 2020s and I'm expecting 90s throwbacks

Dogpilled? You mean she decided she'd rather fuck dogs than the soyboy bugmen who defend the likes of Druckmann? ... I can respect that, actually.

I mean, if he means visually that's kinda technically sort of true, in that we haven't actually seen the ending per se, just the chapter select for it, the final boss fight before the end, and a quick synopsis of the ending on 4chan from the person who leaked the actual footage.

But in any other respect, yeah no that's just a straight up lie: we've already seen Naughty Dog put their foots in their mouths over and over again this entire time about aspects that are "totally not in the game guys, you just gotta wait and see", to which they then later reveal that it was exactly that way in-game, so why should we start believing them now?

I'm expecting Sony to move the review embargo to the street date because of George Floyd and BLM virtue signaling.

One week until the review embargo is lifted. but I think all the reviews that come out then will be great, saying how wonderful the game is.

I want to see what real people think when it hits on the 19.

The response will be like every other AAA title. The journos will suck the game off because they are paid shills and not reviewers. The actual players will be more honest, but Sony will send in plants to bump up the User Score. The game itself will be in the public's hands though, no longer under wraps and under DMCA threats. Neil cannot claim what it is or isn't anymore.

It's a crying shame Sessler is out of the game critic scene. I'd love to hear him throw some more million dollar words praising TLOU2 as a true work of art.

As Ellie lies prone in the metaphorical blades of grass, symbolizing the harmony that once existed between person and nature before nature became person's final judge and executioner, to see the enhanced detail on the grass is to know that even Ellie is fated to become as the grass.

We then see Ellie hide beneath a car, a grim monolith to technology that once was. It hearkens back to Shel Silverstein's The Giving Tree, where much like the tree that becomes a stump for sitting upon in the narrative's poignant ending, the truck gives to Ellie the last that it has, a fleeting resting place providing shelter...to The Last of Us.

Here, Abby's prominent and refined muscular physiology challenges us on what it means to be strong or weak in a world where strength is everything, and respect must be earned somewhere in the often philosophical gap between self-preservation and malicious barbarism—a theme emphasized through the visceral extravagance of lighting a live dog on fire next to its screaming owner. This is a 'dog eat dog' world, where in order to persevere we must become the dogs that nourish through the suffering of literal dogs.

"Guys, it totally wasn't a Naughty Dog employee that leaked everything. We did an internal investigation. Must have been one of the 1337 hackybois trying to ruin or LGTBQ+ experience."

I wonder who is stupid enough to believe that bullshit but then I remember every other story where "hackers" are imagined as having near magical powers like some shit in a crime show where by pressing three buttons a nerd cop, usually a nerd hot chick, is zooming in on license plates and shit from space in 10 seconds flat.

If that is true, then their IT department should be fired immediately. For confidential information, trade secrets, etc., you have an airgap.
