Eeeh...this is an insult to Michel Rabagliati to be in that same list as Labelle. I'm certain there are others.

Do they only count those who released physical books?
There's Félix Lavallée and Gisele Lagace, the latter has released physical copies, that are better than Labelle. Though these 2 are more vague about their locations.

I know a few others better than Labelle, from Quebec (one of them also a troon, Michel Falardeau now trooned out into Axelle Noir), not very hard. Jimmy Beaulieu. But they're not Montreal based. Also Delaf and Dubuc (authors of The bellybuttons).

In fact I'm not sure why Labelle didn't move to Sherbrooke now that I think about it. It's way cheaper, he doesn't have to look for a job because patreonbucka and his roomate prolly had welfare anyway.

It's always fun watching third wave and forth wave feminists fight, JK Rowling tried so hard to be woke with declaring that Hermione was black all of a sudden and that kind of thing but at the end of the day no amount of wokeness will save her from the Twitter outrage mobs if she doesn't follow the current progressive way of thinking so she's stuck in a downwards spiral where she keeps doubling down.

The Harry Potter books are much like, I dunno, the Lord of the Rings movies in that they were created in the perfect time period right before things got so woke creators felt obligated to make their story as progressive as possible, preferably with added Drumf or Brexit allegories.

children are seen as more compelling, and when they say something smert or you put the words in their mouth it sounds like the super smart kids are totally pwning the dumb old timey adults

Whaaaaaaat the fuck is Labelle even on about.

None of Lovecraftian horror has to do with any of the stuff listed. I assume Innsmouth is the "quaint, white American town" babbled on about, although it's never been described as that in the least. It was a port town that thrived due to fishing and trade but fell on hard times. It was only when a (probably white?) man made a cult begging the far superior, vastly more knowledge and nearly omnipotent old gods for help through sacrificing the townspeople did they start to warp and "interbreed". They weren't invaded by a secret, hostile force, they chose to trade their humanity for profit above all else. It wasn't even a malicious force that started to mutate those that were once human but instead the frail human form not being able to handle even the sight of the far superior beings, let alone their gifts, that twisted and warped them. The whole idea of them is that they're so above us, so superior that our brains melt at the mere thought of them.
Also the "innsmouthers", the fish hybrid people, and most those throughout the elder gods lore are seen as a more evolved form of human. They appear grotesque and mad to the average human, but not any more than modern man appears mad and grotesque to the ape from which they evolved.
Literally none of this has to do with racial purity or whatever the fuck Labelle was on about and everything to do with the price you pay for even glancing into the unknown.

Holy christ.
This is like reading a book report by someone who only quickly read the back of the book while drunk and confused it with the rambling for the crackhead down the street.
