I live in a small suburban city near San Jose, CA. Everyone who wants to protest (peacefully or otherwise) goes to San Jose. We had a curfew one night when things got really tense, but nothing happened (the govt was concerned about a gathering near a Walgreens that turned out to be peaceful). The curfew was dropped the next night.

Someone I know said they were peacefully protesting in SJ and the cops attacked; having seen the video of students trying to hijack videos on 101, I’m pretty sure they were, at worst, overly proactive. We definitely have some bad parts of town (meth and hookers in a couple “known” motel hotspots, late night car hijinks in parking lots) but I think in general we’re demographically disinclined (rich, asian/white, suburb of much larger city) to be affected.

Apparently that audio was previously a video... but the protesters asked him to strip out the video part so they couldn't be identified.
