There's been a lack of fact checking with these things it seems. I'm sure we're all guilty of it to some degree too. See a video that looks bad, the true story is a little more nuanced. Like the video way back where a bunch of protesters were thought to running into a house to loot it, but they were actually seeking to stay away from police. Not a good thing either, but better than the alternative. IF the story was true, of course. Someone shared a story on my timeline about how a protestor apparently threw a smoke bomb into a horse trailer and the horses all died how awful! But I looked it up and while some damage was sustained on the trailer no horses were inside, and the driver was nearly running into protesters.

There's a lot of framing being placed on videos and stories from the protests, and some people post stuff without fact checking. It's not helpful to either side but there's so much going on things just slip through the cracks.
