Yeah he isn’t. But...the majority want peace and the majority want to not have to deal with the virus anymore. Neither of these desires is realistic, but when you have one side saying calm down and let’s try to get the economy and our systems going again, and the other side is saying no do not calm down, in fact escalate, and also who cares about the economy and the breakdown in the social system machinery that is pretty much threatening to destroy educational outcomes for an entire generation, more people will end up on the side of a return to normal, even if they know it isn’t achievable.

I believe Obama, for whom I campaigned for once and voted for twice and would actually vote for again, used to call this “HOPE.” Right now, hope looks like getting back to normal, not changing and breaking down things even more, which is what the rioters are demanding. Yes let’s end public education. Let’s end public services like the cops. What other essential functions in US society should we do away with? Traffic laws were suggested for eradication.
