I want to know how this will work. Do all these people really believe that a "community lead" system will be much better? As if these so called "community leaders" of this system won't end up being corrupt/bias/etc just like the police force that they want gone. This seems like it will essentially be the "same shit, different toilet".

Police reforms and actually trying to crack down on the corruption within various Police Departments would make more sense.

They don't want them to be more fair, they want them to be completely in the pocket of black revolutionaries. Basically blacks want to have the kind of power over whites that academics pretend whites have over blacks. That cartoonish "white supremacy" is what they, in their grand ressentiment, hope to hold over whites.

That infuriates me too. George Floyd once beat up and threatened to kill a pregnant woman's unborn child. He did porn, drugs and was speculated to have multiple mistresses in his life. I'm not saying that the cops had any right to kill him, but the way people are deifying him is just wrong. Especially since SJWs nowadays "drag" anyone who is deemed to be "problematic". Even dead people and others who mind their own business aren't "safe".

I also agree with everything else. There's all this anger at police but where is everyone when black civilians hurt/kill each other?

The guy who runs the police union there is apparently a piece of shit and there have been problems with the Minneapolis PD for years, apparently. The whole thing, if you believe some of what I've heard, is rotten all over.

For a case like that reforming the police department would be tantamount to just disbanding it and starting all over.

This is one of those things where you don't want to believe it, but if you accept that white supremacists exist you have to accept that these wackjobs do as well.

Pretty much this. BLM the organization doesn't actually want equality, they want what's essentially apartheid, with the nogs as the privileged upper class and whites on the bottom.

The comments feel like a setup, rather than an organic response.

I'd also point out that there isn't, to my knowledge, a chemist class in most RPGs, and that it would be more useful to be a bard if they didn't actively yell at people for not focusing on and feeling the same way as they do about everything.

Hard to keep people's spirits up and provide a necessary mental health break if everything has to be related to the cause and you'll get harassed until you say what the mob demands you say.

Come on now, having a privately run police force is a fucking super idea. What could go wrong? It's up there with volunteer citizen militias, mafia, drug cartels, good old fashioned mob lynching, or everyone holding hands and singing kumbaya because crime doesn't real if there's no cops to make things illegal, duh. Honestly the mafia might have the edge on this one because it's basically who would end up owning the private police force anyway and having them cut the bullshit and run things directly would just be sidestepping a whole bunch of bureaucracy.

Let's be real here: most large gangs are essentially mafia by any other name already. They have local chapters, they run protection rackets, they deal in prostitution and illegal goods, they have seemingly "clean" establishments as façades, they pay off politicians and police (look at that, they'll have one fewer expense in Minneapolis now!), they cultivate the same "mess with one, mess with all" attitude and they have regular internal power-grabs resulting in deaths and/or exiles going to other cities. The only thing they're usually missing is the rigid rank system most mafia organizations have.

That fucker has no idea. When I was a kid in a Canadian public school, we had to do the Lord's Prayer every morning, and then God Save the Queen at the end of the day. We had to sing the anthem of a different country FFS. No one had a problem with either of them, even anti=royalists or non-religious people.
