As someone who once had aspirations of museum curating or teaching history I feel you. Desecrating or destroying statues, memorials or anything with real historiacal signifigance to it isn't just evil, it's goddamn stupid. They have no meaning or values worth shit, so they have to destroy things of significance and value to demoralize people to their level. Seeing people cheer IRL, or seeing social media retards applaud as statues are destroyed makes me incredibly angry and disgusted. Someone I was close to retweeted the Bristol statue of Colston getting destroyed and I couldn't believe it.
