Stereotypes are just group trends or simplifications. These useful as they cut mental work and allow predict future but they aren't meant to be anything beyond a short cut. Even a very accurate stereotype isn't correct 100 % time but something most people that fall under that stereotype fit in most of the time. If you don't fit then it's eather overall inaccurate stereotype or you are just an outlier, both are perfectly normal things and don't require you to change. One symptom of ASD is thinking in absolutes - if you're female but not a girly girl/male but not manly, then that must mean you're the opposite gender, or something in between. Not caring about what's fashionable and just doing your own thing is also common. Kids and teenagers on the spectrum fall for this in particular, and rather than just starting them on the hormones, there should be more encouragement for psychologists to teach these kids to think in a more nuanced way and realise that not being a walking stereotype is normal.
