The Xbox Series X may be the closest to a great console launch. Cyberpunk 2077, Watch_Dogs: Legion, Yakuza, Halo: Infinite. I know they're not exclusive, but there's something for everybody. Backwards compatibility off the gate extends that launch as well.I don't get people complaining about lack of games at launch. I don't think a single system has had many at launch. This is one reason we never buy new consoles in this house. They have so few games, it ends up collecting dust for a year.
I hate myself for posting about Xbox on a Sony thread.I kinda hate myself for expecting a new Twisted Metal game...
In that case, I don't see why they don't just have a little door like the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, Wii U, or most of the mini consoles. The design looks fucking weird but I seriously doubt they're doing 1 USB port.
The front part is what people use to charge their controllers and modern tech designers want everything to look fucking pretty and resemble steve jobs. So yeah they shove all ports out of sight.
Besides being "furry shit", the trailer for Goodbye Volcano High hits all of the "gay twee indie garbage" cliches. Though remember how much Life is Strange was made fun of when it was announced. It was everything everyone predicted it would be, and it was a massive success. Goodbye Volcano High will be the same shit.
Games like Life is Strange and so on star casts of unlikable sociopaths that the most irritating people on the Internet talk about how much they relate to. Plus there's very little actual gameplay which is also a big part of the appeal.
More like Sony has you by the balls version. No offline play ever. If you don't have internet or the wifi/ethernet stops working, its essentially a paper weight.
That shit tends to break easily. In that case, I don't see why they don't just have a little door like the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, Wii U, or most of the mini consoles.
The Digital Only isn't a standard for the US market, it's going to be a minority option(you're looking at places like South America, China, and Saudia Arabia where digital only would have a major foothold). It works the same as digital games do now, where you buy them and install them, it's not a mandatory always online thing. Because the PS4 and PS5 will still be using the same store. There's no added hoops to jump through. If this is true, then this is DOA
Did Sony not learn anything from Microsoft's mistakes when they showed what they originally wanted the XBOne to be? (I.E. always online, DRM, camera/mic always watching/listening, etc...)
Or are they blatantly copying Google by making their own version of Stadia to appeal to the hipster faggots that aren't really gamers?
You realize that NISA has 4 big games coming in November alone that are for both PS4 and PS5, most notably cold steel 4.
Like Trails of Azure is already set to be forwards compatible with the PS5 as does it's Sequel. Ys9 is also one of those games.
You will almost never get RPGs at launch or shown at a launch event unless it's a port(or it''s going to be released years later). The PS2 had Summoner for an exclusive launch window title, the PS3 had none, the PS4 had none. Hell the PS1 didn't start getting RPGs until Final Fantasy 7.
An interesting tidbit that's arisen is that the disc-free version may not be available in the US and if it is, it will be in extremely limited amounts. It's apparently intended for another market (most likely China or South America).
I kinda hate myself for expecting a new Twisted Metal game...
Sony didn't give the finger to smaller Japanese devs. there was a fuckload of stuff just flat out made up about the censorship apocalypse that never came about. They interviewed one of the devs to Nekopara which was just a VN(and this was before the game even released) and the ching chong just posted a bunch of alarmist shit. So after the game came out the PS4 version sold the most and months later they released the sequel on the Playstation 4 with no issues.I was talking about launch titles regardless of quality, and the PS5 presentation show did nothing but cementing the idea the Playstation brand is really catering to Americans now (and not to forget the chinese too). The PS2 had Dead or Alive 2, Dynasty Warriors 2, Street Fighter EX3, Tekken as launch japanese titles and Final Fantasy X was hyped up back then. Even the PS3 had a Gundam game for launch and there was a tech demo of FF7 during the E3 to show off the hardware capabilities. Needless to say about the old handhelds themselves.
There is also the problem that Sony California gave the middle finger to the third-party japanese devs (especially the small ones) two years ago with its own reviewing board that could suddenly decide, on a drop of a hat, make the japs edit their games for 'unknown reasons' even if it was previously given the green light beforehand.
The audience just isn't there. Car combat is deemed inferior to FPS because driving controls while shooting has always felt cumbersome apparently.Sony still lacks an exclusive online killer app and Twisted Metal would be perfect for that.
