Not-E3 2020 Thread

I wish they showed a bit more of that cat game, Stray. It's the only new IP that caught my interest. I'd like to imagine it'll be like Rain World.

Demon's Souls Remake is the big sell for me. It's likely that the next Monster Hunter game will be on the PS5, down the line. It will probably be the platform of choice for local fighting games.
I'd say the PS5 certainly has better than usual launch line-up than the previous two consoles. It really comes down to the announced details. like backwards compatibility.

Well, yeah, it's fun. We're all gonna end up buying one of these stupid things sooner or later anyway.

Half the people ITT are gonna complain when "Onii-Chan, Please Quit Violating My Butthole 2: Infinite Despair" is announced as a PS5 exclusive but the day it comes out they're gonna buy one just to play it, that's just how it be what it do

Japanese console games have been ported on PC a lot in the past few years, and rather decently with the occasional fuckup like Ys8 (which was fixed recently by Durante) or Nier Automata (sadly still a crappy port that has to be modded). The ones that will stay on the console will generally be the japanese-only games that you have to import.

Glad I bailed out of console gaming after the Vita/3DS died as regrettable I find this situation to be. Consoles have become so anti-consumer with subscriptions and all, while PC has noticeably grown more convenient in comparison to the 2000s/early 2010s

You pose an interesting question. I wonder how the zipperheads on 2ch are reacting to this.

I tried to look up if the JP stream was any different (like it tends to happen with Nintendo's directs) but it showed the same exact lineup of games

You say that now, wait til you knock it over or a piece snaps off.
Oh, I agree the design is weird. I’m just saying it’s not really a factor in buying it to me. I’ll just stick with what I have until the exclusive I want comes out on one or the other.

I've always been one to side with consoles due to hard copies, but even that's becoming a challenge to defend with how many games are anywhere from gimped to unplayable if you rely entirely on data from the disc. And you don't even get instruction manuals or anything anymore, it's just a lone disc inside of a case.

Though consoles do still have used games and convenience on their side. I'll jump ship entirely to PC once discs and carts finally go away.

My hype boner is so flaccid that it's shrivelled up back inside me. How do you fuck up a brand new console reveal like this...? I'll wait a year or two before even considering getting this, and probably only because of backwards compatibility on my ps4 games.

You should never be hyped for a game or a console. Ever.

Hype Culture is for Spergs and Fags.

I also noticed there werent a single japanese anime-looking game in sight like Ace Escape, Tomba, Gravity Rush or even a JRPG. We got a tranny furry movie instead.
You realize that NISA has 4 big games coming in November alone that are for both PS4 and PS5, most notably cold steel 4.

Like Trails of Azure is already set to be forwards compatible with the PS5 as does it's Sequel. Ys9 is also one of those games.

You will almost never get RPGs at launch or shown at a launch event unless it's a port(or it''s going to be released years later). The PS2 had Summoner for an exclusive launch window title, the PS3 had none, the PS4 had none. Hell the PS1 didn't start getting RPGs until Final Fantasy 7.

An interesting tidbit that's arisen is that the disc-free version may not be available in the US and if it is, it will be in extremely limited amounts. It's apparently intended for another market (most likely China or South America).

lmao only games I was excited about were Spider-Man 2 and God of War 2. Spider-Man 2 has you playing as Miles, so goodbye symbiote, and God of War 2 wasn't even shown. Every other game that I was interested in has been revealed to be multiplat. Demon's Souls remake has me tentatively excited too, I suppose, but it's a remake of an already existing game.

Fuckin' GG Sony.

I don't have an issue playing Miles. They set it up fairly well in the first game. Plus, it gives you a slightly different set of powers from Peter Parker.

For me, it's not perticularly obnoxious..

I have an issue with it only because the symbiote was getting heavily teased for the sequel. If you need a new skill tree/power set, the first thing they should be going for is the symbiote for Peter. Then you can move on to Miles, or even have him be the second playable character, especially if they implement co-op. Miles already got a movie, this is the first adult Peter media we've gotten in awhile and I wanted way more mileage out of it.

Meh console launches always suck.

GT5 is the only thing of note to me unless a tiddy or Fighting games gets announced soon.

But I doubt it'll be a launch title.

Usually Jap games get showcased at TGS but well that's not happening this year.

I hope the games they did show are ready for launch/near post launch. I don't want shit like FFXIII,DMCIV or Tekken 6 happening again.

They should let you play as who you want and give them both different gameplay. That is why Having miles get bit by a spider was stupid..he should have gotten powers from getting blasted by negative energy chink magic and gave him connection to the Niggerland-Spider God.

It was fucking stupid in the comics because it retcon'd Peter's powers..having it as a source of power for a new character is cool tho.
