If there is one thing I learned from these sorts of people it is this: believe what they say.

They're always going on about people not believing blacks or not believing women or not believing gays. So I have started to take them at their word. When a dear friend of mine says she wants to see all capitalists hanging in the streets, their businesses burned and their assets redistributed, I believe her. Listen to what these people say and believe them, because they're telling you exactly what they think.

The lie is when they realize they're going to lose friends or status and start to scramble to make up excuses. Don't believe their excuses and don't waste your time with them after they've told you what they want to do to you when your back is turned. I guess Anita wasn't so wrong after all.

No, what doesn't help with race relations is people with white savior complexes treating black people like pets in need of protection. Nothing says 'I see black people (or women or gay people, for that matter) as equals' like believing they cannot deal with things a white person (or man or straight person) would have to on their own. The world doesn't stop when a white person gets called a cracker, nor should it stop when a black person gets called a nigger, a woman gets called a cunt or a gay person gets called a fag.

Ask almost any black conservative and they will tell you that the soft bigotry of low expectations on the left is far more offensive than any overt bigotry on the right. At least with a person that crosses the street when they see a black person because they're scared of being robbed, they see you as someone to be feared. And someone with agency and the ability and willingness to use it. There's an implicit respect present. The left thinks of black people as helpless victims of oppression unable to function without virtuous white people to clear out all obstacles and opposition.

Yeah, I'll take the bigotry of the right over the left any day.

I think most of these modern far leftists believe in an America that doesn't exist. You could see this a couple decades ago even, when Democrats challenged on being anti-whatever about America or for not seeming patriotic, would defend themselves by saying they were plenty patriotic, they just believed in a better America than what we had. In other words, they were often against what we had, but felt they were still patriotic because they believed in a fantasy version of America which they were always told was better. On the other end you had people on the right trying to have some pride in traditional American values (like those embodied by the founding fathers) and just in what good the country has already done.

It helps that we've had major media outlets, for decades now, deriding nearly every aspect of traditional American life. Now more recently we have foreign news organizations, like from Qatar, Russia, and China, that all try promoting a lot of divisiveness in the US which appeals primarily to those on the far left that have been taught to always be critical of anything American. They wouldn't have been nearly effective if consumers of their news/propaganda were more optimistic about the state of the country and the nature of their neighbors.
