Having visited the Midway shopping center in St. Paul again today, I can confirm that the above was overly optimistic.

Almost every business in the area is still closed. Only the Target (which apparently made repairs quickly; it only suffered a bit of looting and smashed entrances) and a few other little businesses (all boarded) are open. Almost every store and restaurant is still shut. No more furniture stores, no more shitty CBD shop, no more BP station; that place didn't even board the smashed windows or cover up the graffiti'd gas pumps before just putting up a for sale sign. The (larger, seedier) liquor joint in the area appears to have suffered some fire damage judging by the mess of its roof. The tobacco and vape shop is boarded, with "HEAVILY GUARDED 24/7" spray-painted on the plywood. I'm guessing they've dealt with faggotry before, if on a smaller scale than this.

That shopping center was right on the light rail line. Sucks to be anybody without a car.

Being willing to listen to public health professionals and open up needle clinics in order to stop the rampant spread of AIDS in his state was Vice President Pence being a good governor. Despite stating a policy decision (no needle exchanges), the health community advised him to go against his position. And after thought and prayer, that is exactly what he did. And he stopped a terrible disease from running wild. I would expect any good leader to do the same because the job is about more than just those that voted for you. If there is sin to bear in making such a decision, that is for God to decide and Mike Pence will be judged for it in due time. But I think he'll still be allowed in.
