It's exactly that. Somewhere along the way, a bunch of morons in entertainment decided that it was better to trick your audience and piss them off rather than to try and make something worth their time and money.
The internet pretty much killed of budget games for similar reasons. No one is going to be fooled when they see Forth Night or Mein Craft on the shelf, and it doesn't take long to call a knowledgeable friend or do an internet search just to be sure.
The usual film trick of paying off critics (or not screening for critics) and suckering people opening weekend doesn't work here either because the game leaked.
A little bonus!
The song at:
Is M.O.O.N. - 'Hydrogen'.
I used to play that song with earphones on all the time. Having someone tune in to it
just before getting one's throat thrust open really hits home!
Most likely someone on the dev team has some taste, but with what we've seen so far, I wouldn't be surprised if Druckmann thought this was a clever jab at the game.
Dina's model is actually cute
wtf did they do to her

I don't get why woke developers keep doing this. I mean, I get it, they think attractive women = objectifying male gaze or something, and TLoU2 at least has the excuse of there being no modern cosmetics or cleaning products; but surely this is more offensive to the real women they're depicting than any offence an hypothetical triggered woman would feel seeing someone attractive.
If you want an ugly woman as reference, there's no shortage of them. Don't pick someone who looks like a fashion model and then ugly-ify them.
TLDR; Those conservative Nazi gaymergaters hate censored tiddies, uglied up pretty girls and diversity, but now that The Last of Us 2 is banned in the Middle East they are celebrating Abby's destruction.
Article cites zero sources, links to nothing supporting these claims.
So the middle east is problematic this week? Good to know.
(Xena gets a pass though because LGBT is higher up the progressive stack and thus excuses a larger volumes of sins against wokeness.)
The actress that played Xena got a ton of hate mail (harassed in today's language) for being a lesbian traitor when she married a man in RL.
I wish I wasn't so poor so I could get into 40K
The good news is Games Workshop got woke recently, so chances are you won't want to play it.
Now the thread is featured it's going to take a while for me to catch up and this post is already too long.
