The Last of Us Franchise - Because it's apparently a franchise now. This thread has been double-DMCA’d by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

I don't understand the arguments about art being made in this thread. Everything humans make utilizing their creativity is art. Video games are art. Yes, The Last of Us 2 is art. It has music, characters, modeling, acting, conjured up from nothing in someone's brain.

That said, the brain it came from was stupid. Sometimes (a lot of times) art is just shitty and not well made, just like everything else people make. That's not a bad thing, it's just how it is.

I can't even begin to describe how much I fucking hate this. If we went back to 2013 and told people that the sequel would have the writer insert himself into a no-lube tranny sex scene nobody would believe us.

I hated Anita Sarkeesian and knew everything she represented was bad news for video games from the start, but even I never would have imagined that things would get this fucking deranged.

Alright.

So. A friend of mine had decided to stream TLoU2. Here’s his impressions and mine.

The leaks are true. All of it. It’s comedic in a morbid way how bad it all is. The only redeeming quality is the environment and the core gameplay mechanic.

The narrative is a contrived, drawn out, poorly paced, and spit-in-your-face kind of assholishly bad. I’ve talked to other streamers about it and the op is all the same.

“When do we kill Abby?” “I’ll never like Abby.” “Who the fuck was Abby?” “God, please tell me we get to avenge Joel.” “... I’m speechless, to be honest. Why did some random girl get to kill him? He, he was a good dude, he should’ve died taking on a swarm of zombies or destroying the remenants of the fireflies, something.”

It’s crazy how people were fine with this game up until that point. It makes you wonder what caused it to get fucked this bad.

Tl;Dr- In the same way that everybody loves Raymond, everyone hates Abby. Top fucking Kek. Let the bonfire begin.
Not crazy, up to that exact point the game is salvageable. Maybe a few things people find odd or cumbersome, but nothing overtly BAD. Killing Joel though is "That Thing That Should not Be" and is IRREDEEMABLE. Its not something that might change later, or be acceptable at some point. Nah, it is The Point of No Return where whoever plays it is suddenly hit ALL AT ONCE with the realization "No, this is bad, and its only gonna get worse..."

After the stream finished, my friend, streamer fella that shall not be name, just shed a tear after the recording. He was genuinely upset. He’s no snoy boy by any means, but these charecters, their dynamics, and all the calm and quiet moments in all the horror that was the nearly dead world in TLoU, he really took to heart. I think the thing that really made people just, give up, was the fact that dynamic we had built up for over a half a decade of waiting, hoping to see familiar faces, was cut short by a psychopathic golf club wielding woman who we have minimal knowledge of.

I think he put it well. “All of that for nothing. This is no longer the last of us. It’s the last of them.”

Found this edit on /v/, they always have a decent sense of humor.
NOW NEITHER OF US WILL BE VIRGINS!.PNG

Speaking of /v/, apparently they’ve been getting hit with DMCA takedown notices for sharing these edits. FOR. SHARING. EDITS. :stress:

I could have done Tropes versus Women way better than her and not caused a tranny sex scene. Where is my kickstarter funding?

I thought a post Tropes versus Women world would mean stuff you could actually have a wank to would disappear from western video games, which was bad enough, but not the end of the world.

But I never would have imagined that things instead would become so evil, Druckmann is a genuinely evil person.

At least the DSP let's play will be funny
I'm looking forward to the Snort Burnell highlights, but I'm wondering if Phil will just outright cancel it and play something else. Seeing Tifa in a pretty dress had him squirming during his FF7 playthrough, I can't imagine him sitting through tranny sex scenes lol.

I'm assuming there's nothing like the zoo animal sequence in the first game.

The first Last of Us was all about hanging on to the last ounces of hope in a dark world, the sequel is about how there is no hope left, just ugliness and violence.

It's a perfect reflection of how far society as a whole has fallen from 2013 to 2020.

I still can't believe that every single one, like every single one, of the leaks turned out to be true. At this point, the leaks could say there's an after credits scene where Ellie gets eaten by a pack of wolves and I'd believe it.

Somehow the leaks underestimated the crazy. We just found out about the sex scene and the Ellie let's Abby go for no reason ending in the last 24-48 hours.
