Social Justice Warriors - Now With Less Feminism Sperging

Even if "politics is happening to you whether you like it or not", it still doesn't provide a reason why anyone has to "get into" politics.
Plate tectonics is happening to where we live whether we like it or not, so does that mean everyone have to be an expert geologist?

From a holistic perspective I do think every citizen should be "into" politics, the problem comes in when what they really want is for people to be promoting the activist cause du jour. They don't really want anyone to be into politics, just subordinate to their weird pet interests.

I still stand by my reasoning that passing a civics test should be a voting requirement. If people don’t know about how their own government is supposed to run, they shouldn’t vote.

I understand your reasoning well enough, and I think it's a good idea on paper. My concern is how it might be abused by MovieBob wannabes.

I mean, I agree with you in theory, but recent events have highlighted that we may in fact be living on top of the political San Andreas fault, and it's feeling feisty.

That’s always an issue. I’d pretty much make it like a driving test and would have questions change so cheating happens less. I’d have people take the test at a local government office or DMV. It would be pass/fail as well.

Here’s what some of the questions would look like:
  • How many representatives in the House of Representatives are there currently?
  • How many senators per state?
  • Name the three branches of government
  • What is the significance of the 4th of July?
  • What document is the foundation for the US government?
  • True or false: to create a law, the bill only needs approval from the House.
  • True or false: The President of the United States can veto a law
  • True or false: the electoral college is not part of the Constitution
If you need to take a test like this in order to get naturalized in the United States, people native here should as well. As with all government programs, testing prep and the test itself would be provided by the government.

And yet it's a world where people are still divided up somehow and the world is in a state of total fuckery where the Air Nomads got genocided, the Water Tribes are primitive and live in either snow or swamps, the Earth Kingdom is barely running and its capital is a totalitarian nightmare complete with secret police and unpersoning, and the Fire Kingdom is basically Imperial Japan.

Not to mention- children are soldiers and bandits. Not a utopia, just a well-developed world in conflict.
You can make an argument that there is "whiteness" on the show. If you're talking about skin color and not Amerikka's definition of "whiteness".

The tribe with the whitest skin (The Fire Nation) was seen as an oppressive people who tried conquering and colonizing all the other nations. The Water Bending Tribe was composed of dark skinned, primitive people who were being wiped out by the Fire Nation.

Even more ironic, Aang, who also has light, white skin was the Avatar who was prophesied to save the world while his two main side kicks were dark, brown skinned people from that same primitive tribe mentioned above.

You really can't make this shit up. So why don't contemporary SJWs criticize the show for these elements, instead of praising it? Is it because all the characters are considered "non white"?

I always wonder how many of these self-proclaimed "feminists" are actually feminists. As far as I have been able to tell there's been some kind of Alice in Wonderland "change places!" shenanigans going on with the nomenclature.

It's just another cultural purr word now. It means whatever the writer needs it to mean in their context. More Humpty Dumpty than Mad Tea Party.

Speaking as someone who has done both election and legislative work, I can't begin to tell you how badly I wish people knew basic civics. Honestly, this is a both sides thing because I've dealt with people from both sides who don't know how the government works and their only understanding of current events is through their echo chambers (Fox, CNN, social media).

I don't expect people to know everything, but at least understand why people get elected to the roles they're voted into and what the different branches of government do. I understand that activism can be important, but many people overestimate it.

Put another way, I've dealt with too many idiots who "know what they feel." Whoopty motherfucking do! Knowing how you feel isn't the same as knowing what you're talking about!

IT's still going to be shot down because "it's a conspiracy to keep da black man down! look at these arbitrary tests!
Well if the tests are arbitrary then maybe they should be reformed to actually matter?

I know. There will always be excuses. Just to clarify, even without tests I sill wish people had an entry-level knowledge of civics. Dealing with loudmouth retards who jump on bandwagons for years has made me bitter, cynical, and jaded.

This image gets stupider when you realize one of the most popular games of 2020 was Persona 5 Royal, where half the playable cast was female. No complaints there.
And are they implying people never used cheats back then?

Everyone used cheats back then. Hell, half the games I owned were night unbeatable or at least not fun without them.

Found an amusing piece of satire today for anyone who wants a laugh.
The author bio was just *chef's kiss*
