The Last of Us Franchise - Because it's apparently a franchise now. This thread has been double-DMCA’d by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

At this point I just pray these lunatics dont fuck up the sequel to Zero Dawn. I have hope in that Guerrilla Games are Dutch and their prior franchise Killzone was pretty good. I hope they are taking note about what their sister Sony Studio has run into.

Aloy is pretty much the only Stronk Female Protagonist I like to come out of this cultural generations cesspool. But seeing what Sony did with the second part to another of its beloved new IPs I am scared.

ND created a great story, far deeper for gamers to understand or comprehend, they are not used to deep and complex storytelling. The beauty of the story, and direction of it all. They made the most realistic post apocalyptic world ever created in all of gaming and even in any entertainment. They didn’t go for fan service, or for a plot armor story, they went into the realistic route, of what could have actually happened. There is no good or bad guy in this game, everyone is gray, which is brilliant, because this is a brutal post apocalyptic world, there is no order or justice, people take matters into their hands. Only the strong survives, that’s one of the reason why Abby is ripped, there nothing else to do. They really thought out of everything. I’m really upset that people don’t see the brilliance of this game, it’s a psychological horror masterpiece, based on realism not bias or taking sides, they made a very raw and believable take on the genre. This is some next level gaming right here, you will never see it ever again, because gamers aren’t intelligent enough for it.

I also want to say something about the ending, that a lot of people misunderstood, the reason she hated Abby is because she actually couldn't forgive herself for blaming Joel. In the end she realised this fact and she forgave her the way she should have forgiven Joel. I think the game is too mature for you or many others to understand.

The shit I took in my toilet bowl was a more realistic post apocalyptic world.

Yeah no. Not buying it. For starters human societies do not trend towards a state of nature. If we want to talk realism, then the most realistic outcome of the mushroom apocalypse would be the formation of organized human societies devoted to destroying the zombie mushrooms. Surviving humans, especially surviving FEMALE humans would be more precious then bullets because they are the future. If we want to be realistic Abby would be in a tent somewhere being made to spit out babies like the wives of Abraham. Not leading a band of men. And the men running the show would be autistic to the point of religion at counteracting the cordyceps. Which means among other things coordinating with other bands to keep each other safe from the greater threat.

Secondly the mind that can argue there is no morality is deranged. Even in fucked up situations people can and must find morality. And when it comes to art its something we instinctively want to see. Nobody wants a story of suffering and pain without some sort of morality and emotional payoff. What makes Schindlers List brilliant is not its depiction of suffering. It's how we can follow one man rising above the misery to be something better. Which is why comparing this shit heap to Schindler's list is insulting. Because there is nothing to aspire too. This game draws from the nihilistic and destructive well of current year politics. It is vile, and dare I say, evil. I have not played it, but I have watched the streams of people playing it, and its evil. That is the only word to describe it.

So here's a fresh take I don't think I've seen before.
Everything that Neil has done to this game - all the unneccessary, toneless writing and butchering of characters literally and figuratively - everything seems worse to me because though this style of writing seems like the kind that some embittered, lonely edgelord might do...Neil has a family. He has a wife and daughter. What?

Now I know that an artist can and should be separate from the things they create but you always put some of yourself into every story you write. If someone looks at the relationship between Joel and Ellie in the first game with that in mind, it's a really touching connection that the writer firsthand knows a father's loyalty to his daughter. But with this game in mind? The one where parental figures and pregnant women are slaughtered willy-nilly even though you know how heartbreaking that would be personally? I kind of actually feel sick. I can't imagine what Neil's daughter thinks about all this. :heart-empty:

You’re telling me every story needs to be inspiring and full of joy, you do realize the kind of world Last of Us is right? Or are you just dense or ignorant? I say both. It seems like there can’t be any dark and realistic harsh stories to be told anymore, everything has to be full of fake fan service, inserting hero endings cuz yeah all heroes in real life die like that, even tho most don’t. Also what does his daughter have to do with making a game about a harsh post apocalyptic world, it’s too realistic for your taste so you attack the man, saying he’s sick. I think you watched too much mcu movies. You’re far off from reality, and sadly we can’t make see realistic takes only fan service.

based and bluepilled

lol, you’re upset a character died horribly as if most hero’s die otherwise, especially in a harsh world that is Last of us, you expected a hero’s death. Even tho Joel is a horrible person himself, he killed people, lied to Ellie, and prevented humanity from progressing but hey let’s forget all that and have him die happy. No consequence at all so realistic and logical right lol. What a fool lol. You have an anime bio so I don’t expect you to know what realism is.

Neil promises he never mocapped himself

That is a bad photoshop of a woman sitting on a mannequin. look closely at the upper body of the 'man', the waist, which is attached to the chair via bungee cord, and the left arm, which has a tag fixed to it with wire.

Is... is that real?

Please let it be real. Please also let it not be real. The former because it would cement the fact that this is Dreckmann's wank fantasy through and through, and the latter because thinking of his hideous egg-shaped willy in a state of tumescence makes me feel more than a little queasy.
Not real, though a pretty good photoshop to people who wish it to be true.

You're bait is not funny. It is annoying.

So you're telling me pregnant women rushing to the front lines, women getting built like a fridge within a few years without steroids/gear or hormone therapy and most of the returning characters acting completely out of character given what they did in TLOU1 is 'realistic' to you? Hell, Joel and Tommy used to be seasoned hunters that knew not to trust anyone, yet readily give away their real names and let their guard down completely around people they've only just met.

Most of TLOU2 is just shit writing for the sake of moving the plot along like a flowchart.

Died for no reason you mean. Art is meant to touch the divine. Post modern Art seems to want to do the opposite. Forgive the majority of humanity for rejecting stories that seek to tap into the demonic realm of hell. For people who still possess sense, such things are upsetting in the extreme.

Trophies aren't affected by difficulty. And there are a lot of settings in regards to difficulty. Just look at this win button montage:

Might as well just watch a stream then. They took all this way too far. I guarantee most of these options are going to be used by people too lazy to learn how to press buttons. And they are going to screech bloody murder at anyone who criticizes them for using what amounts to cheats implemented as accessibility features.

There was already that autistic guy asking for autism mode. So I guess we will be seeing social interaction cues in TLOU3.
With this many difficulty sliders, I'm surprised there isn't one for "Story."

It's a shame that most writers of apocalyptic franchises are SJW-tinged in some way. A story based on a realistic treatment of the apocalypse would be interesting: Neighbor turning against neighbor in a scrum for resources. Rising tribalism causing racial tensions to fester into an all out Race War. Women being forced to offer their bodies for food and protection. Life getting tougher for the weaker segments of society. People being forced to abandon their liberal values or die at the hands of criminals. Soyboys and gender studies majors realizing that they have no safe refuge to go to; Mommy and Daddy aren't going to bail them out and take them home. The old order is broken. Those with strength and guns have the power; those who formerly held power and status find themselves in a world where they have no useful skills. Think of the stories that could be told:

An interracial couple is forced to choose between each other and family/racial loyalty.
A lesbian decides to abandon her partner to join up with a male warlord who offers her safety and security.
A farmhouse in the middle of nowhere finds itself being overrun by starving marauders from the nearest city.
A fat, useless internet reviewer slowly goes insane as he is beaten up and robbed by everyone who meets him.
A feminist is forced to accept the fact that, no, 90 pound women can't beat up 230 lb guys so she has to think of other ways to deal with strong male enemies.
An atomized family is forced to come together and turn their house into a bunker, Bosnian War style.
A woman with a bright career and future ahead of her is forced to accept the fact that she'll probably never be able to have the kind of independent, free life that women were able to enjoy before the apocalypse. Also, she might be captured and used as breeding stock by warlords or her own family.
A young girl has a deathfat father, whom she is desperately trying to keep alive despite there being virtually no food in the vicinity of their house. the father must then consider sacrificing himself to free his daughter from the burden of his care.
A person infected with HIV slowly has to come to terms with their body getting sicker and falling apart, as the drugs used to keep the virus at bay are no longer available.

Sadly, SJWs hate realism, because they realize that, in real life, they'd fare pretty badly in a scarcity-driven scenario. They probably already live on the margins of their own families, and they've probably burned bridges with the self-sufficient members of said clan. So they pretty much have to create unrealistic apocalypse scenarios where petite girls wielding katanas can slice their way through zombie hordes or use makeshift longbows efficiently enough to take down full grown deer. Where everyone still clings to progressive values and strives to treat everyone fairly and equally in spite of the fact that Nature (if unfettered by technology,) will quickly sort out the useful, the useless, and the dead. And where buff , Trump-voting military men are either useless or psychotically power hungry (because someone not progressive has to be the villain of the story, even if they'd be the most likely to survive and rebuild civillization in real life.)

lol did you assume they have to be religious to progress? Are you really that dense lol. I stopped reading after that. Also Abby being buff is because her father is a big deal, he’s a doctor and the only man that knows how to find a cure, so she would be taken care of, in the game she’s an WLF, she got everything she needs, she got all the facilities.

Well World War 2 stories are evil and harsh. God forbid, they make a realistic take on the genre and make something unique lol.

Ah yes, all doctors would immediately have access to a million steroids, tons of food, and hormones during the fucking apocalypse, simply because they're doctors, I forgot that doctors can just magically summon medical supplies.

Oh wait. They can't do that you retard.

lol did you assume they have to be religious to progress?

As you have failed to notice in your own mind, all religion truly is is a set of hard beliefs based on faith and not reason.

Are you really that dense lol. I stopped reading after that.

Calling me dense and also saying you didnt read what I said is rich.

The most buff woman to ever buff will never be as buff as the man who takes the same amount of effort. The idea of a woman leading men in a post apocalypse is laughably stupid. Her duty would be to birth babies. Not fight.

Well World War 2 stories are evil and harsh. God forbid, they make a realistic take on the genre and make something unique lol.

No, world war 2 stories are about good triumphing over evil. This story seems to be about evil prevailing and everyone being miserable.

He died for no reason? Did you even play the first game and get to the end lol. Also what the hell are you talking about, do you even see what’s happening to this world? You need to get back to reality. The world is harsh and god forbid we voice these stories. Snowflake lol.

I also want to say something about the ending, that a lot of people misunderstood, the reason she hated Abby is because she actually couldn't forgive herself for blaming Joel. In the end she realised this fact and she forgave her the way she should have forgiven Joel. I think the game is too mature for you or many others to understand.

It's fine for you to like, or even love this game and its story. Power to you if you do.

However, your enjoyment does not change that the game is objectively badly-written, has terrible characterization, and is in all ways an inferior product to what was promised. The game has no levity, characters are introduced only to be abandoned just as quickly, the plot lacks cohesion throughout, Abby is completely unlikable, neither Joel nor Ellie are treated with even the slightest bit of respect and repeatedly act out-of-character with no justification, and I've read lemon slash-fiction on this very forum in which the site owner makes tender love to one of the mods that has a more dignified handling of mature themes than TLOU2.

The trailer material we now know to be so patently full of shit that it borders on a false advertising claim. You can feel free to enjoy it as much as you want, but you will never convince anyone here that this particular work of fiction is anything other than the tire fire it is.
