Joel has no meaning in this story? The whole game revolves around on what happened to him, I mean you haters need better material than that. Ellie couldn’t forgive Joel for what he did, so she forgave Abby, it’s a psychological thing, not everyone is gonna understand its message.
Abby and the others only mission was to kill Joel to pay for what he did not Tommy or Ellie. They had nothing to do with it. They had a mission, they also had a moral obligation, they said if we kill them then we are no better than him. So they let them go badly beaten anyways. The whole point of the game was to show people weren’t just bad for the sake of it, it’s a world filled with vengeance and taking matter into their hands, not cliche me bad me kill. You say it was a mistake well that’s human nature for you. You say it’s plot armor but yet they still all died anyways, nice try.
Well Joel walking into a camp is not stupid, if he didn’t he would have been ambushed and killed, they were welcoming, he took a chance, also why would it be an issue? Joel also changed and soften up ever since Ellie found the truth, a lot can change in 4 or 7 years, he got much older, he needed to start trusting more people, also he didn’t have any trust issues here didn’t he? You say it contradicts the first game, well guess what?
