Almost every single republican has betrayed the nation and its citizens. Many by all rights should have literally been hanged for treason long ago. Our choices are shit. Voting Democrat is dumb, obviously, because they abjectly insane. Voting Republican means voting for those who at least bend over for the abjectly insane, if they themselves are not insane, which many are (Hi, Dan Crenshaw).

I think maybe the big thing that needs to happen is to get more involved in local politics and hold these fuckers' nuts to the fire. Most people only pay attention to federal elections, and many just the presidential one. We need to be more active locally.

I never looked into the Dems as the real racists thing before but with California actually trying to repeal civil rights and whitewashing history that shows black people not in positions of total financial, military and political equality by toppling statues and editing fiction and preventing conversation and it makes me wonder. Maybe Aunt Jemima is problematic because it gives a voice and a connection to the grievances of black nannies currently working for Dems rather than an attempt to preserve their feelings. I agree that the choices are shit but there really is no choice at this point if you want America to continue in its current form. I tried sitting in the middle and being objective and it just doesn't cut it. Politicians want to be in power and will largely do anything to get it. Sure there are shitbag Republicans and decent Democrats. I liked Tulsi Gabbard and the party fucking wiped her out for no reason other than she wasn't in the dnc inner circle. Politics and nuance are fucked. The system needs an overhaul. Socialists shouldn't be in the Democratic party. The Democrats need an actual platform other than "I want power and will kill or fuck anyone to get it". Republicans need to grow a spine. Its a mess and has no easy solution.
