I know I say it literally all the time but SA is 20 years old - Lowtax probably could have flipped through "Microsoft Access and/or SQL for dummies" across that time and learned himself a skill that would be vital for his business.

The "investing into the business" was actually a separate fundraiser (moving SA to Xenforo) - which raised IIRC $20,000 which also vanished. So more than just the Patreon money, and the regular business income wasn't invested.

All things considered - SomethingAwful has never been actually hacked or compromised as far as I can remember, so something was set up correctly.
