On a more serious note, this is happening in Richmond, which saw some of the bloodiest riots in the first week of this whole mess outside of the Twin Cities and NYC.

The same city that helped kick off the tearing down of Confederate monuments (since it was the old capital of the CSA) in all this. The same city that is the capital of the one Southern state that has more or less completely flipped blue on the federal level, with a Democrat-controlled governor's office and state legislature.

Now the Richmond Police Department is going all out on these rioters, stopping just short of using live ammunition...

I would guess the idea is that the trump-biden polls suggest that there's a heavy advantage for the incomprehensible corpse, and there's already spikes of corona across the country (both from these protests AND from 'hah fukken virus aint real' morons filling bars to 2x capacity) - pretense enough for another lockdown/slowdown. The same haste with which these things were sparked should suggest they could be hastily unwound, and so a quick rollout of actual resistance - the thing that could have quashed it within a few days - can allow this to blow over and out of the general populations' mind before they catch on to which party got a whole load of shit in their coffers (and affiliated orgs' coffers) from the effort

Protest strategy seems to be form a bike line, like the cops have been doing in other places, with 4-5 leaders pacing in between their line and the cop line keeping them coordinated.

Behind that line, they have another protest line heading down another street. This looks like a neighborhood takeover, cars are starting to get backed up.
