And don't forget, we're not even sure they're the ones driving around Cal Anderson park in the first place shooting. The intial shooting that made all the ants in the CHOP anthill freak ou was from a silver SUV that was in a different video speeding away from the scene. This white SUV was on 12th Ave heading north, speeding, and was fired on a lot. It hit or sideswiped the barrier and came to a stop. Then the driver revved the engine or something probably to try and escape and they fired some more. Then they executed him and later told the media that he tried to ram the barriers.

Edited to add: And the police haven't fond any bullets or casings or anything because CHOP people cleaned everything up or removed evidence, according to SPD. More evidence that these two kids were fired upon without real reason and then executed when they tried to get away.

The fucking execution is what gets me. It's like a comedian said "cheating isn't a mistake. It's a long list of decissions you took you knew what you were doing", well. You know, lighting the car at first? Could be a fuckup. Certainly still their fault for causing this situation in the first place but yeah under stress shit happens you got your boss screaming "shoot at all SUVs they're shooting at us" you see an SUV after hearing "fireworks" maybe you fuck it up. But going up to them, smugly proclaim "you ain't dead yet? Wanna get pistol wipped?" And executing one point blank? Mate that's a looooong time you had to notice they were both unarmed, you took that decission cold heartedly that was no mistake. This shit crossed that line hardcore.

The only way I could see it not being 1st degree murder is if the kid actually had a gun (and did the shooting before hand that prompted this shit) and you have the clearest video of it showing the wounded kid going for the gun (or a knife since those can be thrown) after "Oh you're still alive" and "Do you want to be pistol whipped"

That would open the door for justifying a federal response when the issue is just "not being as tough as I would be" twisted into "clear inability to enforce law".

They're not just failing to enforce laws, they're actively obstructing the enforcement of laws, including federal laws. The feds could move in to enforce federal laws, especially against criminals who crossed state lines to engage in insurrection, which is clearly federal. Obviously you don't want this principle taken very far, but the NG has been sent in for far less. Arguably they could even arrest the mayor and the literal communist insurrectionists on the city council. Obviously they shouldn't because I wouldn't be surprised if they were literally trying to troll Orange Man Bad to do exactly this.

Its making me really MOTI that I can't find any news on if there is an effort to find and identify the killers of the 16 year old black child, let alone who critically wounded another 14 year old black child yesterday. Seattle Times has nothing on their front page about it. King5 has nothing. KIRO7, KOMO4, Q13, Seattle PI - nothing on any investgation into this murder EXECUTION. I didn't expect anything from The Stranger, but I was even suprirsed that they don't even acknowledge any of the violence on their front page right now.

What is getting attention? Durking and Sawant having their slap fight, and coverage of some of the removal of CHOP barriers. But a fucking cold-blooded execution happens a block from a Police Precinct and it's not news.

Yes you are correct that federal law enforcement can sweep in, but only reason why I bring up The Insurrection act is because what we have been seeing is more then just "protesters who are harming their own"
The Insurrection Act specifically § 253 (full reference 10 U.S. Code § 253) could be evoked as the City of Seattle and the State of Washington have been unable and/or unwilling to enforce the law. But it would be bad optics to do so unless a federal law enforcement tried a raid and failed. I am not advocating nor saying it should not be done, just that the law is there to be used.

Honestly I do think (and hope that) what is going on is a bunch of glowies are gathering up intelligence on the ring leaders and gathering evidence to bring them all down and hopefully funders of this too (via RICO and any other applicable laws), and gathering this stuff takes a while.

It's more that the "news" media isn't going to come around and put a camera in your face and ask how you feel about your kid getting murdered unless they get murdered by a white guy, preferably a cop. A update on some Seattle politics. Mayor Durkin and that idiotic slob councilwoman Sawant aren't buddies, and as usual, Sawant decided to pull a stunt and grandstand and show off how smart she thinks she is instead of working with anyone else. Sawant organized and led a march to Durkin's home.
