I'm glad we're finally seeing the inevitable articles like this.
"Going green" has been a HUGE money making scheme this past decade. There was no oversight at all on what was considered "green" and various companies (hilariously) tacked it onto everything they possibly could. Thing is, pointing this out means nothing to most.
Trying to explain to them that the 97% agree thing is fake already has an inbuilt criticism loophole; the "accepted scientists" have to agree to get onto the council of something like 20,000 professionals, but to the average person emotionally invested in the whole scam, those people aren't accepted BECAUSE they agree, but they agree BECAUSE they are intelligent, and only intelligent people could possibly get onto the council because only intelligent people understand how dire it is.
Edit: The irony of the article separating the "standard" green product producers from the "fraudsters" is hilarious, considering the whole argument was that these companies were cutting corners and destroying the planet in the first place to save money. Now they're claiming going green has increased their revenue by billions.
