Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

Vehicle customization got cut too. I don't belive them when they say the delays are for bug fixing.
And they also said "game 100% done, we're in final stage of development" too. I don't think you do that sort of stuff at that point.

Plus when they say cut for "design reasons" it's probably because someone promptly tried to climb up the skyscrapers to snipe people at street level or something else completely game-breaking rather than there being a technical difficulty with moving along a wall.

I'd doubt it. Its not like they render targets far enough that you could do something game breaking like that, by the time you found a suitable perch on the skyscraper. It probably just limits the area they have to worry about designing.

Hope so, I get cutting vehicle customisation but cutting wall running? probably cut because it would be easy to exploit missions.
Well, very few games can implement it properly. Mirrors Edge did it well enough because the game was centered entirely around parkour. Titanfall 2 had some utterly batshit parkour mechanics because just being able to go from wall to wall on any surface could enable some wild traversal.

To little in a big game like this and it would have felt unsatisfying. Too much and it would have been extremely exploitable. The perfect balance in a game all about being an RPG and not a Spider-Man simulator and it suddenly makes a bit more sense. It's not like you're gonna find a ton of enemies jumping around walls that aren't designed for it (like the spider-bot in said 48 minute demo)

Maybe I'm just being optimistic?

Fuck, that's a bummer. That wall run to anchoring with mantis blades was one of the memorable parts of that 45 min demo.

Cut 3rd person cutscenes as well (though that's old news) because it "broke immersion". Any sex cutscenes are going to be 1st person as well, so you likely won't be seeing shit. Spider bot is gone as well because they felt it was just distance hacking with an extra step, which is something you do anyways with high intelligence.
To play devil's advocate a bit: it's possible these features were cut before not, and they're only choosing now to mention the cuts.
Hope so and it's not something they did last minute. Still, from listening to gamers who have played it for the 4-5 hours, it still looks promising, just don't expect everything you saw...

The more I hear the more I think the game is going to be a whopping disappointment.
I disagree honestly, from what I've seen in the various trailers so far the game looks like it will be fun and good. Now, the removed wall running and no little spider bot buddy is disappointing to me, I will admit, but the only way I can see this game being "bad" is if it fails to live up to the image of the game you(in the general sense of the term)have built up in your head over the past few years of waiting. My main concern is possible technical issues.

I intentionally avoid trailers and spoilers for basically everything, partially to avoid hype and partially because they spoil too much. With Cyberpunk I'm looking for an engaging game I can dump as much time into in a day that I do games like League of Legends or World of Warcraft.

So far from the word of mouth about the game, it's not the greatest feeling. I don't want a movie, but 3rd person cutscenes are a fun way of storytelling and they have their place. The Witcher did it pretty well.

Wall running can be a hit or a miss and has to have the world be built around it. Customization isn't that big a deal to me but if they're cutting aspects of it then that tickles me the wrong way.

I want the game to be good, but it's gotta be a game and not a walking simulator and interactive experience.

All I can tell you as someone who actually watched the various gameplay trailers for this game is that this isn't a walking simulator or interactive experience. If you liked the Witcher games, you should like this.

Ehh both default V's look bad to me. Guy and girl. Guy looks like a Eastern european slav squatter and girl looks like a methhead.
I'm so glad we can customize.

I think I'm going to go with Nomad lifepath. It's gonna be nice to drive up to the big city and I feel like it makes more sense since you don't know anything about the city as a player anyway.
I actually think the default male gopnik look suits where you’re starting lorewise. You’re a mook with big dreams and the will to go places. Did they ever say why your character can’t suffer from cyberpsychosis? Is that just a gameplay thing or did Johnny’s ghost do something to your brain?

You niggas won't be happy unless you can look down at your character's titties like in Jurrasic Park Tresspasser.
I must look down at my futa midget hacker's tatas.

Joking aside, it's unfortunate that features are being cut out. I assume it's because they weren't working as intended. Really odd the car customization is being axed, though.

Cyberpsychosis, realistically speaking, wouldn't be a thing 50 years after the initial culture shock period of 2020 where everyone starts cybering up for the first time. AFAIK this isn't the 2020 setting with just a year change, its the cyberpunk world moved forwards to 2077. Everyone's packing far more cybernetics than they realistically would for 2020, after all. Its a lot easier to relate to humans when you're 90% metal when your average human is 20% or 30%, after all.
