That is very true, in the past it used to be about teaching a subject as best as possible to your students, so that one day they can pass on the knowledge that you were given, and have at-least, one of them presume your own field, with there own ideas.
If you were able to follow the manuals and codes perfectly that would be fine, but people can't do that.
To a point there is. If you are discussing literature, you need to at least know the synopsis and key characters. You can’t make that stuff up. When it comes to the rest, a good professor will judge your reasoning skills and how well you back up your claims (it’s pretty much training in rhetoric, which is important if you want to do law and/or politics). That said, some professors get caught up in “what to think” rather than “how to think”. If a professor is more interested in you learning new ways of thinking rather than pushing their opinions onto you, they are of good quality. Training in reading literature (especially old literature) can be quite difficult and it requires some skills that may not be as obvious to others.
And that is why it is stupid to even give a fuck about shit like skin color, race, religion.
He and some other organizers also encouraged protesters to gather in groups of three and practice social distancing to avoid violating state pandemic and anti-riot laws. Clever. Of course, these efforts were met with some asshole yelling about how pointless it all was and how the cops would fuck them all up anyway, but it was a nice try. We'll see as the night goes on how successful they are at keeping the peace.

Some times those books are bullshit, there have been books written about history, the classics, etc that were 100% pure bullshit, much like some college profs.
They go to it, cause its the easiest thing to hate, something about someone is different and its something all of us are kinda hard wired to react to something weird with mostly hostility or fear, so they don't even bother and just point and say, "cause there jews" and thats it.
