Had to chase a group of aggressive drunk/high people loitering around the dumpsters away from my building just now. When I yelled to get away from the building and out of the alley, they got angry and went immediately into the classist shit we‘ve been seeing because I actually work hard and have a nice apartment. Told them I had a gun and to leave, but one of the women started telling me to show them the gun and do something about it. Called the cops and they scattered like the roaches they are. Stay vigilant, Kiwis.

Amazing how standing up for yourself makes them wilt and act civilized though. Three of the four came back through the alley a few minutes ago. They’d split with the men going one way and the women going the other and met back up. One of the men asked the women “You good, you good?” and the women walked quietly. They never expect the silent majority.

He definitely would have something to say about the message of White hate being spread right now given his comments about "love your neighbor as yourself" and "love thy enemy."
The thing i liked about taking community college classes is that those tended to be taught with more of a hands-on, applied approach in that students were able to take what they learned in class and use it. Whether students planed to transfer to a four-year school, begin working with an Associates Degree or a Certificate, or work concurrently with their studies, what they learned could be useful almost immediately.
Some people need the structure that comes with in-person classes that meet at a specific time and follow a fixed schedule. online classes take a lot more discipline because you have to pace/push yourself and force yourself to devote time to the class. It's not always easy, especially if the class has minimal structure such as one where the only requirement is that you finish all the assignments by the last day. I don't envy the professor in a class such as that because I'd expect a good number of the students to turn in all the semester's assignments on the last day due to the poor time management skills many have in $CURRENT_YEAR.
It's sad because my high school had a session for incoming Freshmen and their parents which outlines the requirements for both a college prep and vocational education track complete with sample course elections for all four years. I don't think that happens now, and i bet it's because of the push to pigeonhole as many students as possible into STEM when many simply lack the interest or aptitude. Meanwhile, vocational education has been de-emphasized or even looked down on.
About the same time, if not slightly earlier, a McDonald's in my area apparently had a policy of not hiring anyone who made $30k/year or more at their last job as quoted in the local newspaper's article about the poor economy. That they might have gone in the opposite direction is surprising in some ways but not in others.
The narrative is based on a limited number of data points. There are still Black and White people that get along or treat each other civilly even in passing. The narrative comes from a very vocal minority that's hellbent on keeping a wedge driven between people of different backgrounds in an attempt to perpetuate the "us vs. them" attitude.
Let's hope thinks stay relatively calm this weekend.

She looks real familiar but my last boss loved his strip clubs and my nighttime position was keeping him from getting another Dui. During Masters week when the strippers from Atlanta came to the csra area clubs and muscled out the regular skanks.
