I honestly think that in a hundred years, people will look on these last few decades with absolute horror. They'll view us the same way we view people living during the time of the Civil War, or the Middle Ages. We'll be seen as barbarians with primitive and useless medical treatments and incorrect science based on absurd theories. We were poisoning ourselves with nonsensical chemicals in our food and houses. Our primitive technology will seem like death traps, and they'll wonder how we managed to survive at all.

I'm sure abortion will be looked upon with disgust, especially given our many options for birth control.
Maybe they'll be disturbed that we slaughter animals for food instead of growing meat in a vat.
They'll marvel at how people would use plants to get high, or inhale chemicals in a process called "Vaping," and wonder why we didn't just order some happy pills online.
They'll be disgusted with our overuse of fossil fuels... or maybe they'll look at us like idiots for being afraid of climate change?

Anyway, what things happening in 2020 will be seen as barbaric by the people of Tomorrow?

I think that the world will view us akin to Rapa Nui, or Easter Island, only on a world scale like Rome. A world once man erected and established his dominance through symbolic features of great skill and might, but ever consuming to where we'd rather eat ourselves than stop and think to change anything. Still, yet our world would be fascinating to understand in how we lived and thrived in this time where man lived on an ever thinning edge of nuture versus nature in only the span of 100 years. Not even a century, and we had gone from post Renaissance Industrial Revolution to the Information Age, from massive clockwork and steam technology to microprocessors and digital microelectronics.

Probably the rampant wastefulness and the failure to use the internet for anything truly constructive. Think about every shitty marvel movie that comes out and gets millions of pointless merch that most people will throw out in a year. And think about how we're using what could be the greatest library of public knowledge as a tool for gossip and videogames.

I picked "other". The answer to the other is transing kids and letting freaks like yaniv and the entirety of the rat king and trans sideshow thread torment normal men and women in their restrooms and such, intimidating them with rape and threats to "rip out their uteruses to give to a trans woman" so the tranny can live out a fetish. all for idpol

I maintain that the downstairs gender reassignment surgery will be seen in 100 years the way that we see lobotomies or drilling holes in peoples heads to let out the ghosts.

The fake tits they will probably view the way we see arsenic as a cosmetic or wigs coated with asbestos.
An oddity of the time.

Ancient Egypt: "we now know that drilling a hole in your head does not release the demons in your skull, cavemen were so barbaric and we are advanced and know better! This dead mouse paste will certainly cure your toothache!"

Europeans: "we now know that shoving rotten mice guts on your teeth does not cure a toothache, the Egyptians were so barbaric and we are advanced and know better! Let me take some of your blood to get the humors back in balance!

Americans: "we now know that bloodletting does not remove an illness from your body, medieval europe was so barbaric and we are advanced and know better! Let's drill a hole in your brain to cure you of that pesky homosexuality and bipolar!

Americans: "we now know that lobotomy only turns a person into a drooling vegetable, 1900s America was so barbaric and we are advanced and know better! Let's give these kids and mentally ill adults cross sex hormones and butchery, destroying healthy childhoods and allowing them to terrorize the opposite sex and completely disregard men and women's safety for a fringe group of loons!

And yet time and time again troons will defend this as being "very advanced science" or somesuch.

Abortion will always exist. I don't think our opinion of Abortion will change in 100 years. Unless the religious take over everything. They might be disgusted at the fact that a decent number of people were open about abortions and wanted to air their tales to the public. There's always going to be cases where abortion is needed or prefered. Like the baby might kill the mother if the pregnacy is allowed and a C-Section isn't possible. Or if the kid is brain dead. Let people have a fucking choice goddamnit. Maybe we should impose limits to the number of abortions women are allowed to have. And if they keep having them, educated them on birth control methods.

I think people are going to look back at 2020 the way they look at 1968. A moment of turmoial before a massive culture shift. They'll probably question why we let these rioters have power over us to begin with.

Most people know that shit is awful. I think the future will probably ask "Why didn't you guys shame the people who did this to the furthest corners of the earth? Why didn't you guys make laws sooner to have actions like this covered under child abuse?"

I think the interesting one will be the hormone replacement therapy because that could go either way.

It may be seen from the perspective of what they do to children giving them hormones so that they are more conventionally pretty in later life.
Or it may be approached as an odd initiation ritual into an analogue of a 'tribe'.

So I wonder which side it comes down on:
  • Footbinding: A barbaric practice by which children are physically warped so they can better meet a societal concept of beauty.
  • Ritual Scarification: Permanently marking yourself to gain initiation or mark you as accepted.

Look at Jazz Jennings. Pretty sure it'd be the first.

You say that, but then consider the Spartans.
They used to give each teenager a preteen boy to raise and fuck.
But we only have so much brain space to allocate to history that doesn't impact us today like that.
So between 'state enforced child soldier / sex slaves' and 'Induction lifestyle with comradery building', we chose the second one.

Tbh discounting the possibility of a serious revolution, or societal collapse, and going with current trends. It's more likely that the men of the future would see the freedom found on the current internet to be far more offensive than it being a waste of resources. They will probably see trolling culture, compete free speech, and the spread of unvetted information as evil. With them being glad that sites like ED, 4chan, and Kiwi Farms are long gone, relics of an inferior and hateful culture of the past. Though it's likely to only be the "intellectuals" of the future who would even hold that opinion. The average person probably wouldn't have a opinion on it anyway. Not understanding the history, and not giving a fuck anyway.

Currently the internet is being centralized by a few mega-corporations, who are slowly and steadily boiling the proverbial frog. Taking away more and more of the freedoms found on the internet. Buying up all the real competition, and censoring anything that gets in the way of their woke, advertiser friendly, corporate hugbox. The internet will soon be just like television, or the radio. A product under the complete control of a few mega mega corporations who solely decide what is acceptable. No one nowadays looks at television for what it could have been, a truly revolutionary way to teach. Instead they just blindly consume the mindless entertainment put in front of them. People won't feel any different about the internet of the future, just as most people nowadays only see the internet as a source of dopamine. Whether it be gained from likes, laughter, or cummies. it will be the same in the future, the only difference being that's all the internet will be, a mass dopamine generator.

I don't think the people of the future are going to be any more "enlightened" than the people of the modern day. Not anymore than the people of the modern day are more enlightened than those of yesterday. Propaganda, and mass psychological manipulation "by both states, and corporations" is only going to get more effective, more insidious, and less noticeable from here on out. Our current understanding of the human psyche is no-where near complete. And as time goes on, and more of it is understood, it will get easier and easier for those in power to control the thoughts and desires of the average person. Today any company of large enough size can literally create desires in people, desires that would have never existed otherwise. Easily manipulate and mold our most powerful emotions like clay. And change the opinions of the majority of the population in a couple years. Eight years ago anyone who wanted to mutilate a child's genitals would have been rightfully considered a pedophile freak, but now you're no longer welcome in "civilized" society if you disagree with child genital mutilation. Which just goes to show how easy it is for our current rulers to change public opinion.

There exists no boundary that can't be broken, no fundamental truth that can't be deconstructed, no opinion that can't be eventually force fed to the masses. To think that people are just going to "wake up" and suddenly become logical when they are fat and happy is not only wrong, but also dangerously complacent. it gives false hope where there is none. There can be no real change when the ruling establishment holds both the carrot and the stick, and only upon losing both will the masses be open to alternatives. Not because they become more logical, or enlightened, or whatever. But because their previous rulers can no longer provide for or control them. And so they have to search for new ones to give them what they want, security, and the fulfillment of their desires. The rhetoric, and whether it's socially acceptable or not to molest kids. it's just window dressing to the average person, and I don't think this will never change.

Was not intending to make a wall of text when I first started writing this but whatever.

It's always been the case that people look at the way they did things a century back in horror, however it's for stupid reasons. People look at that shit and judge it based on what can be done in current day and think that they're the smart ones that have the definitive answers. They don't consider how little was know or could be done at the time. Hell look at the people trying to judge historical figures through modern standards, it's a fucking retarded way of doing things.

Easy, chemotherapy, it on paper's the stupidest fucking thing you could do, you're basically killing the body in order to try and kill the cancer. I think once you get better treatment for cancer people will be looking back at it similarly to how lobotomies are today.

Social media.
I don't think that they will stand the test of time, they will go away eventually.
Future generations will look at how useless social media were in terms of actual benefits and how they played a huge part in dividing humanity, they'll be glad that social media no longer exist.

This as well.
