Probably the rampant wastefulness and the failure to use the internet for anything truly constructive. Think about every shitty marvel movie that comes out and gets millions of pointless merch that most people will throw out in a year. And think about how we're using what could be the greatest library of public knowledge as a tool for gossip and videogames.
Tbh discounting the possibility of a serious revolution, or societal collapse, and going with current trends. It's more likely that the men of the future would see the freedom found on the current internet to be far more offensive than it being a waste of resources. They will probably see trolling culture, compete free speech, and the spread of unvetted information as evil. With them being glad that sites like ED, 4chan, and Kiwi Farms are long gone, relics of an inferior and hateful culture of the past. Though it's likely to only be the "intellectuals" of the future who would even hold that opinion. The average person probably wouldn't have a opinion on it anyway. Not understanding the history, and not giving a fuck anyway.
Currently the internet is being centralized by a few mega-corporations, who are slowly and steadily boiling the proverbial frog. Taking away more and more of the freedoms found on the internet. Buying up all the real competition, and censoring anything that gets in the way of their woke, advertiser friendly, corporate hugbox. The internet will soon be just like television, or the radio. A product under the complete control of a few mega mega corporations who solely decide what is acceptable. No one nowadays looks at television for what it could have been, a truly revolutionary way to teach. Instead they just blindly consume the mindless entertainment put in front of them. People won't feel any different about the internet of the future, just as most people nowadays only see the internet as a source of dopamine. Whether it be gained from likes, laughter, or cummies. it will be the same in the future, the only difference being that's all the internet will be, a mass dopamine generator.
I don't think the people of the future are going to be any more "enlightened" than the people of the modern day. Not anymore than the people of the modern day are more enlightened than those of yesterday. Propaganda, and mass psychological manipulation "by both states, and corporations" is only going to get more effective, more insidious, and less noticeable from here on out. Our current understanding of the human psyche is no-where near complete. And as time goes on, and more of it is understood, it will get easier and easier for those in power to control the thoughts and desires of the average person. Today any company of large enough size can literally create desires in people, desires that would have never existed otherwise. Easily manipulate and mold our most powerful emotions like clay. And change the opinions of the majority of the population in a couple years. Eight years ago anyone who wanted to mutilate a child's genitals would have been rightfully considered a pedophile freak, but now you're no longer welcome in "civilized" society if you disagree with child genital mutilation. Which just goes to show how easy it is for our current rulers to change public opinion.
There exists no boundary that can't be broken, no fundamental truth that can't be deconstructed, no opinion that can't be eventually force fed to the masses. To think that people are just going to "wake up" and suddenly become logical when they are fat and happy is not only wrong, but also dangerously complacent. it gives false hope where there is none. There can be no real change when the ruling establishment holds both the carrot and the stick, and only upon losing both will the masses be open to alternatives. Not because they become more logical, or enlightened, or whatever. But because their previous rulers can no longer provide for or control them. And so they have to search for new ones to give them what they want, security, and the fulfillment of their desires. The rhetoric, and whether it's socially acceptable or not to molest kids. it's just window dressing to the average person, and I don't think this will never change.
Was not intending to make a wall of text when I first started writing this but whatever.
