I have a hard time taking them seriously when they have kitchen towels on their belts. They look like they could be ISIS housewives. You kidding? 2020 is just getting started! Nurgle has only just begun to bestow his blessings upon us fleshbags!

Mongolia Quarantines Russian Border Region Over Bubonic Plague Suspicion - The Moscow Times
Lab tests confirmed that two individuals had contracted the illness after eating marmot meat.www.themoscowtimes.com
My dad is like that. He is terrified of getting it. He is in his 70s, so he does have a right to be scared of it. But most of it has to do with his hatred of Trump. I don't like Trump, but my dad really does have TDS. Which is weird, because he used to complain about Feminazis years ago and now he's shifted to Trump is going to kill us all. I legit think there might be something wrong with his brain, though, because he's got some other things going on that doctors can't figure out. But, people that never look at Trump critically are equally stupid. My aunt refuses to wear a mask simply because Trump says you don't need one. It irritates me that people are making health decisions based on political party. We’ve all seen people who act like covid isn’t a big deal, or just don’t care about wearing masks or social distancing. But has anyone else experienced people on the opposite spectrum, the overly paranoid?
I only leave the house once a week for groceries. I don’t go out or socialize. I haven’t seen my boyfriend in almost 4 months. So I went to see him ay his house. Boy howdy. I have a parent who called me and furiously ranted about how stupid and inconsiderate I was. They seriously act like merely stepping outside my house will get me the coof, and I guaranteed have it now. They think they WILL die if they get it (they’re boomer aged and overweight but don’t have any serious chronic illness that would make it worse). None of this ranting is because they’re worried about ME. They literally talk like I’m signing THEIR death warrant by going out and THEY are being put at risk. Now I have to live in the garage for two weeks and and pee in a bucket because I have to be quarantined. It’s almost funny. Same person who cusses out random people for not wearing masks in public. Anyone else know anyone like that?
I got one a month or so ago. Negative, of course. I would also describe it as deep throating my nose. The place I got it had a box of tissues on hand because even adult men tear up from it. But at least it’s quick.
My mom has COPD so she will probably die if she gets it. She wears a mask and takes precautions but she says she's just accepted that if it is her time, it is her time. I wonder if the difference between the two is that my dad is an atheist and my mom isn't. He seems way more panicked about dying than she does.
Is it like getting the flu swab or worse than that?It was painful but the pain was that pain you get when you get water up your nose at the pool. It stopped hurting pretty quickly after I was done and I'd do it again if there was a good reason.
I should hear back on results sometime next week. I'm not expecting much, but if I test negative, I'll be able to go back to the gym a little sooner, and if I test positive, I can donate blood once I'm better.
My kid's school is planning to have 1 week in class / 1 week online rotation so they can cut down the number of students physically in the school. No idea what they'll do with sports/chorus/band.Ignoring all the other draconian insanity, there's literally no way that can work in any school on the planet. My high school was so crowded I had to literally shove my way to class if the distance was far enough, and this was in a well-funded upper-middle-class suburb.
This is why people aren't listening to the "experts" anymore. If large gatherings are risky because of covid, the reason for the gathering does not matter. There is no virus on earth that is sentient and chooses its targets ethically. Quite frankly, I have much less trust in the medical field and "experts" in general because they lack the courage to be honest. If you can't be trusted to tell people unpopular things, you can't be trusted at all. If they worry about the mob opinion, they probably also worry about the opinions of leaders or others who might control the purse strings that make their work possible. Science is supposed to be objective. They can't explain why they think these protests are okay?
Fear. It's fear of the consequences they'd face for not being on the right side of history. Fear that even a limp dick statement like "m-maybe going out and protesting will spread the coof guys" will LITERALLY be the same as saying you want black people to be murdered. Fear of the angry mob in general. All of these institutions aiding and abetting this are afraid of what'll happen if they don't give concessions to the protestors. They can't make this go away like they can with angry right wingers because they've thrown their lot in with people like this.
And why would they care? Lockdowns were winding down when George Floyd died. Now they can point at increasing case numbers and go TOLD YOU SO, REOPENINGS BAD. They want to have their cake and eat it too. But instead, now every political side has a reason to be angry at the government and law enforcement and think they're full of shit (at least in theory, since the defund the police groups want the police the second something goes bad for them). So maybe playing politics with everything going on in the hopes it'll social engineer our way to President Biden was a god damn retarded idea.
