Unfortunately I feel like Doug had more self awareness then the average breadtuber. I Didn't want to talk about this until I was out of my shitty living situation but due to how badly my moving efforts have gone and how much stress keeping it all a secret has caused me, I decided its[sic] time I told you all anyway.

If you watch me frequantly[sic], you may have heard me talk about my toxic/abusive relationship with my parents and ho especially my mom's behavior caused me a lot of trauma as a kid/teenager and basically shoved me down the alt right rabbit hole.

Right after New Year's of 2018, My relationship with my parents devolved to the point of constant fights that escelated[sic] to violence very often. Eventually my parents kicked me out and sent me to live with my uncle for a year. That is where I spent the entirety of 2018.

Early in 2019 I got a phone call from my step dad telling me to pack my stuff because I need to stay with them for a few weeks because my mom's dog died and she was very depressed and he had to leave for work all day and needed someone to cheer her up. I was very hesitant to move back in with my parents but after a year away from them, I suppose I forgot just how bad they really were and I complied with their request. However, a couple weeks turned into a month, and a month turned into two until I started to bring up the idea of moving back in with my uncle as I had a job as a lifeguard back in his town.
This escalated into an argument right away and my parents forbade me from moving back in with my uncle even though he was fine with me coming back. I couldn't just leave because my parents never let me learn how to drive/get my liscence[sic] when I was a teenager and I didn't have a car, so I couldn't just pack up and go. To make matters worse, no one could come pick me up because my parents lived in a gated community with armed security guards at the entrance that don't let anyone in unless they have approval from a resident (which my parents would not allow). I was stuck with them and they knew it. Shortly after, tensions started to rise, I began making political content and my channel started to blow up. I quadrupled my sub count in only a month and once I started streaming, I began making a little bit of money. Eventually I got caught in the sights of nazis on a ebsite called "KiwiFarms" and they began searching for my home address for obviously malicous[sic] reasons. I showed my parents, and they said that if they managed to find our address, to let them know immediatly[sic]. Sure enough, they did exactly that, and when I showed my parents, they demanded I delete my YouTube channel and stop streaming or they'd shut of the power in my room. Fortunatley[sic], I came up with an idea that they agreed to. I would move all my things to the guest room on the other side of the house and claim that I moved in with a roomate[sic] on the other side of Florida who did not want to appear on stream. It worked, but it was a lie, I was and am still here with my parents.

I really hate lying to you all about my living situation, but it was the only way to save my YouTube channel. Eventually I started talking to my now Girlfriend of nearly 9 months and planned on me going to visit her for a week around valentine's Day. However, as you can expect my parents did now[sic] allow it and after making up a plethora of excuses to convince me not to go, they told me if I walked out that door, I would come back to my streaming setup at the bottom of their pool. At this point, I had to come clean to my GF and tell her my situation. She wasn't mad at m, but instead began planning a ay to get me out of here. We decided that since her lease was about to expire, after she'd gotten a new place, she'd take a flight down here and sneak me out with my stuff and we'd drive to California. Sadly, COVID came along and threw a wrench in our plans. No one wanted to rent and for months shes[sic] had to hotel hop while submitting application after application all the while I'm stuck here with my parents. I try to stream as much as possible, but every time I leave my room, its[sic] an argument and sometimes it escalates to violence. They will start fights over every little thing, from leaving my bathroom door open to eating "the wrong thing" from the fridge. They constantly threaten to shut off my power/internet and this is the environment I have been streaming in for as long as most of you will have been watching me. Despite making a lot more money recently, this won't solve anything. Until my GF has gotten us a place, she can't come get me out of here.

I have tried my best to stream/create content consistently, but my mental health is constantly crushed by my living situation. Now I can't leave the house because if I do, my parents say they will destroy my PC, which is how I make a living. I have nowhere else to go since my Uncle thinks YouTube isn't a REAL job and would make me get a new job despite me making MORE than I would there (he says I need IRL experince[sic]) and I would have no time to stream anymore. There are a lot worse things that are going on, but I would rather not go TOO into detail here since it makes no real difference. Getting police involved is NOT an option either. I have nowhere to go even if I do get out with the help of police and getting them involved would just be a hassle that would make my life 10X harder.

At this point, my GF is frantically trying to get us a place to live, but my credit is nonexistant[sic] and her's[sic] is bad. Also, I only started making decent money recently AND I'm young so that doesn't look promising on applications. There isn't anything we can do except continue to apply for places and hope we finally get something. All the while I try my best to stream/make enough money here and save up for moving expences[sic] and whatnot as my parents torment me and threaten to shut off my power over the smallest issue. There isn't really anything you can do to help me, I am only telling you all this so I can vent/get it off my chest. I hope you don't judge me poorly for this. Thanks for reading.

These barely have any views lmao, I mean when the next wave of whatever brand of politics becomes popular shows up. Like communities usually end up with a couple generations of content creators that are popular at different times. You linked a video to Digibro who is an anime youtuber and he's a very good example, he hit his stride early on and his since fallen out of popularity while newer people who showed up and became the next generation of popular anitubers or older channels who weren't as popular before somehow found an audience. Unfortunately I feel like Doug had more self awareness then the average breadtuber. At least the NC character was whiny and insufferable so you get the idea that it's played for laughs instead of legitimate criticism. While Breatubers are still whiny they tried to layer on some snark and narcissism which makes me think they actually believe the dumb shit they spew and aren't aware of how exceptional they look to everyone around them.

I think Change the Channel the cancel campaign was pretty gay and retarded, but their picture of Doug seemed spot-on. He's shown signs of being egotistical and off in his own head for a long time, so that part wasn't too hard to believe. Becoming famous validated him in being that way. It happens to a lot of people who get swept up into stardom and can't quite catch the wave.

I Didn't want to talk about this until I was out of my shitty living situation but due to how badly my moving efforts have gone and how much stress keeping it all a secret has caused me, I decided its[sic] time I told you all anyway.

If you watch me frequantly[sic], you may have heard me talk about my toxic/abusive relationship with my parents and ho especially my mom's behavior caused me a lot of trauma as a kid/teenager and basically shoved me down the alt right rabbit hole.

Right after New Year's of 2018, My relationship with my parents devolved to the point of constant fights that escelated[sic] to violence very often. Eventually my parents kicked me out and sent me to live with my uncle for a year. That is where I spent the entirety of 2018.

Early in 2019 I got a phone call from my step dad telling me to pack my stuff because I need to stay with them for a few weeks because my mom's dog died and she was very depressed and he had to leave for work all day and needed someone to cheer her up. I was very hesitant to move back in with my parents but after a year away from them, I suppose I forgot just how bad they really were and I complied with their request. However, a couple weeks turned into a month, and a month turned into two until I started to bring up the idea of moving back in with my uncle as I had a job as a lifeguard back in his town.
This escalated into an argument right away and my parents forbade me from moving back in with my uncle even though he was fine with me coming back. I couldn't just leave because my parents never let me learn how to drive/get my liscence[sic] when I was a teenager and I didn't have a car, so I couldn't just pack up and go. To make matters worse, no one could come pick me up because my parents lived in a gated community with armed security guards at the entrance that don't let anyone in unless they have approval from a resident (which my parents would not allow). I was stuck with them and they knew it. Shortly after, tensions started to rise, I began making political content and my channel started to blow up. I quadrupled my sub count in only a month and once I started streaming, I began making a little bit of money. Eventually I got caught in the sights of nazis on a ebsite called "KiwiFarms" and they began searching for my home address for obviously malicous[sic] reasons. I showed my parents, and they said that if they managed to find our address, to let them know immediatly[sic]. Sure enough, they did exactly that, and when I showed my parents, they demanded I delete my YouTube channel and stop streaming or they'd shut of the power in my room. Fortunatley[sic], I came up with an idea that they agreed to. I would move all my things to the guest room on the other side of the house and claim that I moved in with a roomate[sic] on the other side of Florida who did not want to appear on stream. It worked, but it was a lie, I was and am still here with my parents.

I really hate lying to you all about my living situation, but it was the only way to save my YouTube channel. Eventually I started talking to my now Girlfriend of nearly 9 months and planned on me going to visit her for a week around valentine's Day. However, as you can expect my parents did now[sic] allow it and after making up a plethora of excuses to convince me not to go, they told me if I walked out that door, I would come back to my streaming setup at the bottom of their pool. At this point, I had to come clean to my GF and tell her my situation. She wasn't mad at m, but instead began planning a ay to get me out of here. We decided that since her lease was about to expire, after she'd gotten a new place, she'd take a flight down here and sneak me out with my stuff and we'd drive to California. Sadly, COVID came along and threw a wrench in our plans. No one wanted to rent and for months shes[sic] had to hotel hop while submitting application after application all the while I'm stuck here with my parents. I try to stream as much as possible, but every time I leave my room, its[sic] an argument and sometimes it escalates to violence. They will start fights over every little thing, from leaving my bathroom door open to eating "the wrong thing" from the fridge. They constantly threaten to shut off my power/internet and this is the environment I have been streaming in for as long as most of you will have been watching me. Despite making a lot more money recently, this won't solve anything. Until my GF has gotten us a place, she can't come get me out of here.

I have tried my best to stream/create content consistently, but my mental health is constantly crushed by my living situation. Now I can't leave the house because if I do, my parents say they will destroy my PC, which is how I make a living. I have nowhere else to go since my Uncle thinks YouTube isn't a REAL job and would make me get a new job despite me making MORE than I would there (he says I need IRL experince[sic]) and I would have no time to stream anymore. There are a lot worse things that are going on, but I would rather not go TOO into detail here since it makes no real difference. Getting police involved is NOT an option either. I have nowhere to go even if I do get out with the help of police and getting them involved would just be a hassle that would make my life 10X harder.

At this point, my GF is frantically trying to get us a place to live, but my credit is nonexistant[sic] and her's[sic] is bad. Also, I only started making decent money recently AND I'm young so that doesn't look promising on applications. There isn't anything we can do except continue to apply for places and hope we finally get something. All the while I try my best to stream/make enough money here and save up for moving expences[sic] and whatnot as my parents torment me and threaten to shut off my power over the smallest issue. There isn't really anything you can do to help me, I am only telling you all this so I can vent/get it off my chest. I hope you don't judge me poorly for this. Thanks for reading.

Also he's oh so very abused, but wouldn't involve police, because... that would complicate things? Despite him making it out to be super complicated as is. He should've written he wouldn't call the police as "praxis", would've been more believable
I do believe his parents threatened to cut off his internet, bc they're probably tired of the sprerging sounds coming out of his room daily - and that is probably the full extent of the abuse that's going on
