The problems arise when you mix two genres that have very different basic principles, like RTS and FPS. There are few RTS+FPS games and they all feel like a gimmick, like an experiment worth hearing about, but not playing.

A good example is brutal legend which mixed Hackn' slash with RTS and was ok but the two side of the gameplay never felt like it meshed into one, it was still just two genres in the same game.
The problem with with mixing hitman and persona is that neither strengths of those game styles bring much to the others. Hitmans strengths are having great designed levels that you can explore and learn all the details to plan and take out a target in many many different ways. Persona strengths are exploring all the characters story that mainly get you flat upgrades and improving your character though fun minigames and events that all effect the main gameplay.
The way Alex does it he basically sacrifices the intricate levels of hit man and replaces it with a single boring school and replaces all the fun ways to kill with social events that don't have the good writing of persona or the investment to feel satisfying. The clubs getting you upgrades like persona doesn't work when what makes these games satisfying are overcoming obstacles by planning and executing perfectly not just cause you unlocked a skill.

The more this drama piles up, the more it becomes necessary (and even reasonable) to make a video explaining the situation.
On the one hand I sincerely pity Alex, this must be a horrible situation for him to go through. On the other hand, I'm only getting more and more hyped for Hate and Shame 2.
