My guess is that Alex will survive out of sheer lolcow power, while the lovesick project will fall apart the next year because of some internal drama in the community. From the 10 minutes i spent in their discord you can see that 90% of the people over there are your usual flavor of underage tumblr spergs that get extra icky and pissy at stuff like merely calling characters "traps", it's a boiling pot of autism.

As someone who's worked on projects before, this is exactly why this project is going to fail. When everyone spends more time bickering at each other rather than working on the damn project, it is almost guaranteed to die out, due to disaster blowing up in everyone's face that distracts everyone from actually contributing.
There's alot of people out there willing to lead their own project, yet not many of them are willing to put in the effort to actually, y'know, work on it.
Why else do projects just randomly go stagnant and slowly fade into obscurity? At least 90% of the time, it's because of petty drama.

Yandere School was a short, okay game, but it ended up being a commercial flop due to an overall lack of popularity and Tea and Cake games' ineptitude at public communication. [They went into radio silence for over a year after YS was released, most were convinced the team no longer existed.] The developers did evolve past the yandere nonsense and announced they wanted to make a sort of open world social simulator game as its own concept without yandere stuff, but due to YS flopping they don't have the money to pursue the project and have resorted to fundraising via a cookie clicker ripoff mobile app. They did this because they wanted to avoid crowdfunding for outlook and moral reasons, but I think patreon or kickstarter would've been a less pathetic and morally dubious way of handling the situation. It fits right into their hands-off approach to engaging their community though, unfortunately.

They're naive kids basically, considering the fact that they "apologized" and also try to "sooth and protect" Alex from the "drama" because "aw man, he is going to kill himself " and then they backpedaled that statement when DrArpeis started to use his brain and see that it was a bait. the worst thing is that when LoveSick fails they would go back crawling to support Alex and cheering him, since he is the only one who can finish YS.

But none of those games were good. Disco Elysium is a visual novel that lectures you if you pick the wrong politics, Life is Strange had some of the most unlikeable characters since DmC, and Undertale is overrated memebait but not SJW itself. SJWs are incapable of true creativity because it requires them to think outside of themselves and those who share their opinion. They HAVE to make everything obnoxiously political because everything must be a mirror that reflects positively on them. Lovesick will be no different.
