Is there a similarity between Spoony and Digi?
I think that they are both perfectly capable of producing content that their old fanbase and new viewers would enjoy, they've done it before. They know how to do it yet they refuse. They waste their time on things nobody cares about, they are both terminally online. Is it a time management issue or just mental illness?
This has been said by many people before so it's not an original thought by me but content creators on YouTube have a lifespan. You've got maybe 5 years max to build your nut and then you're spent. You can try to sidestep this a few different ways:
1. Distill your content until it's essentially just a format.
Keemstar, those kids react channels and many youtube political talking heads have done this and it's successful. You can stave off burnout by just existing in a flowstate.
Digibro could easily do this, many other anime youtubers have done it. The problem is that he fired (or he quit I can't remember) his editor who would do a lot of the menial and tedious editing and it's saturated by people like Mothers Basement and Giggcuck.
2. Take your audience and transition them to a different format.
An example of this being done is FPS Russia/Woodysgamertag who have both done this by taking their massive youtube audiences to the podcast format where they can produce content in an easier medium and far more easily get guests. The PKA podcast is what the PCP podcast should aspire to be. Trying to swing from guest to guest and picking up new listeners each time from audience cross pollination.
Digibro has somewhat attempted this with the Pro Crastinators Podcast and his many other podcasts. However, he has spread himself far too thin and the PCP podcast has too many cooks in the kitchen. A veritable whose who of literal whos. The podcast is a tragedy of the commons as no one host makes enough of the podcasts divided patreon pool so they don't have much incentive to care. For Digis cohosts it's simply an opportunity to siphon some of Digibros fanbase degrading life force for some e-shekels. It could be salvaged but it's tainted by the involvement of lesser members of the PCP who don't have a radio voice or a talent for public speaking.
3. Reinvent yourself.
Completely change your content style and rise from the ashes like a Phoenix taking your old audience with you. This is what Digibro is trying and failing at. The people who subbed for his analysis videos do not want to see him blather on about nothing. Perhaps he'd have been successful if he actually put thought into what he was going to do before executing it. This is a common reoccuring theme with Digibro, sometimes his ideas are fine or even good but he won't put any care or thought into how he's actually going to go about executing.
I suspect that this current arc will be the final arc. As he troons out, obsesses over this thread and his youtube career disappears in the rearview mirror he will become increasingly negative and hostile online. He will get drunk and insert himself into drama. His patreon will hit and all time low and he will try e-begging only to be dunked on and humiliated by the people he's tried to start shit with.
It's a shame because this is the future he has chosen for himself, he could get back to treating content like a job and earn his income like the rest of us. He is just too much of a spoiled and coddled manchild to be honest with himself.
You can already see Digibro starting to feel the financial pinch. Apparently he's banned from buying weed. It seems like he isn't able to meet his financial obligations and he's choosing to blame his cannabis habit as the culprit.
