That is not a China only thing, I don't think we have accurate numbers from anywhere on the planet. There are enough posts in this thread to make a full other thread purely dedicated to how Tests and Tracking of this thing is completely and utterly inaccurate in about every way you can imagine.

Believe you are quite right. Only exception I can think of is possibly Japan. They seem to be pretty straight on such numbers, and their case numbers are small anyway.

Vancouver police are asking for the public’s help in finding a man who attacked a woman Wednesday at a running track after an argument over masks and social distancing, officials said.

About 10:30 a.m., the victim was at the track between Clark College and Hudson’s Bay High School when she got into an argument with the man because he wasn’t wearing a mask or practicing social distancing, police said in a statement. At some point in the altercation, he was photographed smiling and using both hands to make an obscene gesture.


Masks are required in all public spaces in Washington where keeping a physical distance of 6 feet is not possible, per a statewide order from the health department.

The victim left the track, but the suspect followed her to her car, where he struck her multiple times and kicked her in the head after she fell to the ground, according to police.

After the attack, the suspect fled with a woman in a black SUV, police said.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital and had been released by Thursday afternoon.

Investigators asked anyone who recognizes either the male suspect or the woman he was with to contact Vancouver police.

U.S., U.K. and Canada say Russian hackers are targeting coronavirus vaccine research

National security agencies in the United Kingdom, United States and Canada on Thursday accused hackers linked to Russian intelligence services of targeting organizations conducting COVID-19 vaccine research with custom malware in an effort to steal intellectual property.



The U.K.'s National Cybersecurity Centre issued the joint advisory, which was also shared by the U.S. National Security Agency and Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), as well as Canada's Communications Security Establishment.
"It is completely unacceptable that the Russian Intelligence Services are targeting those working to combat the coronavirus pandemic," U.K Foreign Minister Dominic Raab said in a statement. "While others pursue their selfish interests with reckless behaviour, the UK and its allies are getting on with the hard work of finding a vaccine and protecting global health."



The agencies warned that the group known as APT29 — also referred to as "the Dukes" or "Cozy Bear" — was behind the attacks. It was not immediately clear if the group was successful in obtaining any data.
"Throughout 2020, APT29 has targeted various organisations involved in COVID-19 vaccine development in Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom, highly likely with the intention of stealing information and intellectual property relating to the development and testing of COVID-19 vaccines," the advisory said.
The hacker group used malware known as "WellMess" and "WellMail" to target organizations around the world, the agencies said. Their report detailed APT29's tactics and shared ways to identify whether data had been compromised.



NSA Cybersecurity Director Anne Neuberger said that the group "has a long history of targeting governmental, diplomatic, think-tank, healthcare and energy organizations for intelligence gain."
"[W]e encourage everyone to take this threat seriously and apply the mitigations issued in the advisory," Neuberger said in a statement.


Several of the leading vaccine candidates are being developed by researchers in the U.S., the U.K. and Canada, with all three governments pouring billions of dollars into institutions and drugmakers to boost testing and production. One of the most promising candidates, developed by the National Institutes of Health and the drug company Moderna, is set to begin a key final round of testing later this month. U.S. health officials have said they hope to have 300 millions doses of a successful vaccine available by the end of the year.
U.S. authorities have previously accused cyber actors linked to the Chinese government of similar efforts. The FBI and CISA said in May that Chinese hackers were "attempting to identify and illicitly obtain valuable intellectual property (IP) and public health data related to vaccines, treatments, and testing from networks and personnel affiliated with COVID-19-related research."

And a big part of that loss of effectiveness has been the loss of credibility by governors on down, who blessed "protesters" "protesting" without masks or distancing, but persecute people whose crimes were wanting to go back to work and/or wanting to return to church to worship. The ONLY these little Hitlers' whims can be carried out is due to the police power they hold. Does not augur well for the next time something like this happens, as it surely will.


Haven't said this in a while, but I appreciate all the inputs from everyone. One can learn much more here than through the "mainstream media". Believe one can get a more comprehensive picture here, thanks to inputs from all over the world and some excellent analysis. Had hoped this thread would have died a natural death a couple of months ago with the departure of the virus, but now believe it will be active indefinitely. @UntimelyDhelmise I believe the idea is that covid 19 can reinfect you and cause long term effects so it is better to avoid getting it than to get it now and end up with brain damage or something. Now im not sure if that is true or just the media causing hysteria but I cant find any source disproving it.

Funnily enough, China ended last year with trying to rewrite the bible. On this year, it got a pandemic, locust swarm, swine flu, and now the dam failing. Probably just a really big coincidence with how the dam is really poorly built, but life has a funny way of laughing.
