Yeah, as much as I like the idea of "separate the art from the artist" in theory, the fact is the left has been kicking the right's ass up and down the entire media sphere so much because a huge percentage of leftists have had a policy (sometimes unofficially, sometimes officially) of not financially supporting or hiring anyone remotely to the right in any media related job for decades. In some fields stretching back to the 60's. The result has been a slow takeover, with the few slightly more conservative people (and most Hollywood conservatives are really just centrist libertarians at most) keeping their mouths shut most of the time if they want to keep working while communists are loud and proud.
