Keep a close eye on your manufacturing tolerances or whatever quality control standards/measures your business deal entails. Chinese suppliers are known to cut corners on materials and when pressed, will offer to increase this or that to bring your product back up to the standard you expect. For a fee. And without informing you that they've been cutting material out of the process in drips and drabs over the last two years. You'll be paying them to hopefully bring them back to the initial terms of the agreement.

The 3 Gorges Dam going would be a disaster for China and the world order as it currently stands. Now you could argue we'd all be better off eventually but the rest of 2020 at the very least will be an utter nightmare that'll make everything up to this point look like roaring good times.

I think it's an inevitability at this point. TGD went up 10 meters over a 48 hour period last weekend and has only gone down 2 meters over a similar time frame. That's not even considering the rain that's supposed to be coming later this week with three feet of rainfall all over the Yangtze basin. Maybe it doesn't go this year, but there are so many construction problems and geographical concerns that a major event is inevitable. What I want out of this situation is irrelevant.

Dam only lowered 2m since saturday when it stopped raining. It was adding 4m a day before that.

Add to that the seepage and deformation. Its toast. Rain getting heavy again in the area

I just think everything around it is fucked . I think right now they're trying to balance the integrity of the dam with the distruction down river. If the dam looks like it might go then they will open all the gates and write off everything down river to save ther dam. If we see they have all the gates open and the level is still rising then it's fucked.

Ya I saw that. With all gates open the island becomes uncovered because the resivor level drops. The down stream cities are fucked. The dam isn't lost, it just lost its ability to save the cities. Like your link says.

The dam would be fucked if we saw all the gates open and the island still covered by water. That would mean the gates can't flow enough to keep the resivor level down.

That was the situation up until friday.

They have had 3 days of no rain. Now start paying attention you will see the waters rise again will all gates open.

They blew some dams upstream and flooded rural areas..this was desperation. Theres not much more than can do now except maybe blow the ship lock.

The situation is unraveling slowly.

Hmmm...

There may be sediment building up on the dam below the water creating a slope and blocking some of the water. The water coming out is really pulsing.
