It's easily the quickest way to get there historically. Eventually a silent enough majority will grow tired of it all and happily accept such a system just to go back to a quiet life. Look ar Franco's Spain. I know I'm late, but mind if I add a few of my own suggestions? Stars of the Lid, Hammock., Low Roar and Bohren and der Club of Gore are all excellent musicians/bands/artists whose music is lovely to listen to. If I'm feeling overwhelmed, I take a break and listen to them, usually with a nice glass of something alcoholic. That said with booze, it's also important to not become too-reliant on any one substance. All in moderation, right?

I'm also a fan of the Norwegian slow-TV train stuff, and webcams from various places around the world that stream live online. It's nice to "visit" somewhere new.

This will all pass, though none of us know the outcomes. But if there is nothing else the last few months have taught me, it is that letting this destroy us in the process is futile. Our lives may change, we may lose jobs, friends, family, relationships. But we should strive to come out of this better and stronger as individuals.


Anyways. I deserve a pillorying for this, so go ahead, but I get that this thread and the world in and of itself can be oppressive as all heck lately. I know it's easier said than done, but it's probably best to not let it destroy us in the process.

Wheeler was whining a few months back when the rioting began. His mother was dying (he was still allowed to visit her on her death bed) and the radicals were blaming him for not doing enough to support them even though he effectively handed the city over to antifa years ago.
