Another thing with changing all the base names is that people are still probably going to call them by the old names they're use to and just cause even more confusion. It happens a lot when they decided to rename something after the name has gotten into the public consciousness, people default to what they called it for years. It might have officially changed names but people are still probably going to call it by all the old nicknames its been given over the years of usage.

It's like if there's a street in town where a lot of burger places are, over the years the locals might have just started calling it "Burger Street" rather than the actual street name. No matter how many times they'd change the street name or even just enforce the proper name usage any local will still go "Hey, wanna head down to Burger Street for lunch?" I can see the same thing happening with all these building name changes.

Washington state did this exact thing. I believe it was Pierce County that was named after some prick that history didn't remember fondly, so they renamed the county after another guy named Pierce that people were cool with. Its a great way to highlight how retarded people can be.

There was actually a funny local news story in the 90s or early 00s about Mount Washington (in the Olympic range) being named after George, and someone writing in to complain about it. Turns out it was named after Booker T. Washington due to someone winning a naming contest.

The DNC lineup was really bad this year and the fact that they chose Biden is even worse. As much as I dislike Hillary Clinton, at least you could put her on talk shows and debates without worrying about her going off script (except for a few instances). The fact that the DNC has to rely on the Vice President pick is a really bad sign (especially since one hadn’t been chosen yet). If I were a Democrat, I’d probably vote third party just to let the DNC know how much they suck.
