TDS has/had two distinct fanbases: an older crowd that remembers Dick from his Dr Phil appearance, old Maddox fans, and people from BPITU; the other is a bunch of incels who look to Dax as a father figure who mostly skew younger.

TDS used to cater entirely to the former group and now cater entirely to the latter group. Maybe the latter group contributes more to his Patreon, maybe that group has more younger female groupies, or maybe emotionally he’s still a 20 year old so he likes hanging out with them more.

TDS became unlistenable when he started pandering to his pack of incels. The virgin contests were funny at first but got lame when they lost their virginity in a fake story or guys just got hookers instead. Dick bringing on autists or cripples to talk about how they are ladies men were lame and boring. Dick running and throwing his lot in with the IBS set means his show is unlikely to be funny. Not mentioning anyone specifically, but sometimes it comes across that some posters are hoping Dick slides into complete irrelevance. People who don't know who he is beforehand and start to watch him likely don't immediately think he's a lolcow, and if storyfire actually gets off the ground, my guess would be that as one of its first verified members who already has a sizeable audience, his content will be bumped up. If Dick can successfully transition away from stirring up the Maddox drama, he may be able to garner a sufficiently large new fanbase.
