U.S. Riots of May 2020 over George Floyd and others - ITT: a bunch of faggots butthurt about worthless internet stickers

EDIT: Oakland just committed a federal crime, shining a laser at an aircraft. ABC7's helicopter was just getting shined by a green laser.
They were doing that at the May 30 riot too. If I recall, someone got swooped up for shining them at the police chopper. (I saw them hitting news choppers on streams too)

The Feds really do seem to be getting the worst of it with the gas and fireworks all ending up back in their faces. Makes me wonder if they'll escalate dispersal methods, and what other crowd control they have on hand to handle a group this big.

So I left the Portland protest about 50 minutes ago.

I went somewhat open-minded. I've read posts here, but I have enough friends that go to these who keep talking about how it's awesome and peaceful and the feds attack people for no reason that I wanted to see for myself.
I thought maybe I'd get tear gassed. Or maybe I'd see the feds attacking people for no reason. Or maybe I'd see the protestors setting fires and causing havoc. I also though there was a good chance I wouldn't see much of anything.

What I saw I didn't anticipate. It was a PARTY. It's a fucking street festival with people hanging out and chatting with their friends and socializing. Tents selling t-shirts and goods and presumably the rib shop somewhere in there.
I did see some people marching and hear some speakers, but the parks outside the courthouse felt like an anarchist summer festival. I had the sense beforehand that at least some of the people doing this are simply bored and wanted to get out of the house. That's basically confirmed for me now.
As a caveat, I didn't get very close to the real action, if there was any.
My boyfriend was with me, and he was initially supportive but became less and less so as we walked around. He's extremely concerned about transmitting coronavirus and didn't want to get any closer than we had to so we didn't get into the fray. I didn't see the wall of moms or vets or leaf blower dads, just the typical people you would expect to see at a Portland protest.
I also saw an alpaca, because of course there's an alpaca, it's Portland..

Overall, I'm underwhelmed.

I have thought about a song to best summarize what is going on. And I ran into major issues.

You see I needed to figure out who the good guys were. Violent commies in the street are not good. Which meant the police/state are the good guys.

And then it hit me. The theme song should be Klendathu Drop.

Gotta love how the Left's stranglehold over culture is so strong that the Right is forced to use Left wing satire of the Right as unironic inspiration, because all genuine sources of such are over 100 years old now, or involve cowboys.

In fact fuck it. Stand up and be counted. Richmond Virginia. Observant kiwis probably already guessed this anyway. So whatever.

A decade of living in this city and to see a decade of work destroyed in the matter of weeks at the hands of privileged white kids who dont even live here is infuriating. Fuck you all. Fuck your protests, Fuck Levar Stoney, and Fuck whatever justifications the people on the streets tonight have. This is not about justice. None of you assholes care about George Floyde. This about destruction. You just want to destroy this city. You wrap Black Lives Matter as a shield behind the pure destructive evil you are unleashing upon us. The people who live in this city. And also fuck the moderator who will delete this post. For those who see this before it's gone and agree, know that they want us to shut up. But you are not alone. For those of you who see this before its deleted by the mods and agree with it being deleted. Fuck. You.

What happened tonight.
What else? Ransacking businesses along broad and grace. Because destroying the VCU panda Express strikes a mighty blow against racism.

Fearless leader Levar Stoney thinks he is in control of the violent mobs destroying our city. And he thinks that he can get away from any responsibility for being called out for his utter failures by calling his detractors racist. Hey Stoney. Who is the Chief of Police? Have you found one yet? Is it racist to say that going through three interim police chiefs in as many months is bad? Who is in charge Levar Stoney? You? Our elected leader? Or a baying mob?! Looks to me like an unelected baying mob is running Richmond.

The gas isn't working even when it does land in the protesters they don't do shit

A lot of them have proper gas masks, and by now some have even built up some resistance or immunity to it.

There's a stronger version of the gas that they sometimes use, and it works when they throw a bunch at once. But the random single grenades are just to annoy the protesters. Feds can clear that fence if they want to, they did it last night.

If they were actually trying to disperse the crowd, they can go full flashbangs and rubber bullets, like Seattle earlier today. The Portland crowd doesn't have enough shields to deal with rubber bullets, and they aren't used to the heavier flash bangs yet.

Someone is still keeping the feds on a leash. Either they are still in "don't take the bait" mode, or they're stalling so they can sweep up some antifa on the side. But from the arrest records I'm seeing over the last 2 weeks, that second one keeps looking less likely.

There's action, but it's at the federal courthouse.

Cali lost that loophole because at some point they codified 'shotgun' as anything that fires shotgun shells.

TFW you can't buy a Shockwave. (:_(
Cali screwed with a few things after I left then, I saw some cryptic messages on the Franklin Armory page for the "Title 1" with no updates.

Like I've said elsewhere, California continually defies my lowest expectations.
