It does prove that not "EVERY GAME EVER" is trash either. And yeah, bad draws do happen - it happens even if you're not playing jumpstart - welcome to card games.
No but Stab was being full of shit to "prove me wrong and jumpstart is the best thing ever" by saying something he knows is not true. He has either played played a lot, or straight up lied.

Do you... know how the game is played
Do you?

Faith's Fetters.
Not an attack, however you made them spend 4 Mana to answer a 3 mana threat.

You have won that exchange

Valorous Stance
They come out ahead in mana admittedly, this is about the only good play they could make.

Pile blocking
Pile Blocking a first striker in an attempt to kill it is a very bad move unless you have a way to prevent a blow out if your opponent has a combat trick. This is why Double Fervent Champion is such a pain in the ass to deal with.

Not even counting what was their 2nd pack
And we aren't counting yours, you said you had Phryexians, and that deck outpowers the hell out of the Unicorn deck too, Maelfic Scythe is going to be a problem for a deck with a bunch of tiny do nothing chump blockers.

Blessed Sanctuary doesn't make Unicorn/Enchantments an autowin against Devils/Phyrexians..it just gives the match a chance, because even with Sanctuary out..you have the better higher end with a 5/5, a 4/4 that draws you 2 cards, and Sherdrold. Outside Of a Kor Spiritwalker with her strap ons Equipped and a Giant your creatures are larger than theirs, they don't have enough tricks to mitigate that repeatedly and without Kor Spiritwalker they have very little card advantage..and you have several ways of gaining card advantage in the phyrexian deck.

Also winning at 2 life with Phyrexian Reclimation is the plan with that card :P

No he wasn't. He never once said anything about "jumpstart best thing ever" - just that he was having fun. Like me.

Yeah, and when you're playing suboptimal decks, sometimes that's what you gotta do.

You remind me of some of the idiot keyforge players I regularly beat who spend more time complaining about what they don't have than taking advantage of what they do.

And considering the deck is about killing its own creatures, "locking" one down can be the better play.

I'm starting to see why you're getting your ass kicked.

Like say... an enchantment that constantly generates 2/2s? So you could just toss 2 of them at the first striker and lose only 1?

(also, fervent champion not in jumpstart - and in fact there's very few packs which have double of anything besides basic lands)

Also you can check the decklists. In the example of devils, all their combat tricks requiring sacrificing something. There's not a lot of tricks in jumpstart unless you're playing green - otherwise it's on board.

And we aren't counting yours, you said you had Phryexians, and that deck outpowers the hell out of the Unicorn deck too, Maelfic Scythe is going to be a problem for a deck with a bunch of tiny do nothing chump blockers.

Eventually yes, the Scythe is what won me the day (I think my opponent either wasted artifact hate or it slipped by somehow).

Otherwise the Phryexians mostly sit in my hand a lot of the time as I'm waiting to get mana to come up. (never mind if Zurzoth eats some of my mana along the way - which he has)

Actually check again - on arena I don't have Sheoldred. As for card advantage, I have like... 2 and a half. And on jumpstart, if the opponent runs aggressively enough (which you should if you see them playing phyrexia), I've ended up in a few games stuck with those "card advantage" cards stuck in my hand, unable to play them. Actually in one match that I was going to lose anyway, I killed myself with Phyrexian Gargantua like a boss.

It seems to me that you're defeating yourself in jumpstart more than the opponent is.

It's the unholy love-child of sealed & draft and I'm having a blast. (though maybe wizards could have built the packs more blanced)

We can both agree - that is shit.

The art is bad, but it's a guy that's been making magic art for 27 years. Soooo... I dunno a big Mark Tedin fan may want it. Pulling the 3 Urza lands of his in this panorama as your Box topper though, lol, that's a real fuck you there.

Jumpstart seems like it'll be fine once it goes down in price to around $100 - might grab a box then for shits and gigs alongside gambling. It's supposedly print to demand, so there's no reason in hell to spend masters-level prices for something with a few handfuls of value and a lot of complete duds.

Jumpstart is fun. Maybe not always hyper balanced (my vampire lands deck took like 10 games to get 2 wins), but the games are enjoyable.

They also brought a bunch of cards into historic, and I am having a blast jamming mono-red dragons using Dragonspeaker Shaman to power out early terror of the peaks and then slamming drakuseth to finish them off. It's not optimal by any stretch, but its fun.

Oh yeah, Uro delenda est.

Yeah. Way over priced right now but once it goes down, I'm looking to get some jumpstart to make a board game night set up. (Trying to decide if I need a whole box or half of one.)

Archeology is also a real dud. Lot of recursion for one ok card, meteor Golem.

Check your Walmart/Target/Retail you can find packs of Jumpstart for $6.

Bought a handful this weekend and ended up with an Exquisite Blood and Linvala, Keeper of Silence so I ain't complaining. Also the basic lands (the one with the jumpstart symbol) are worth a bit of money too so hang onto them, especially the phyrexian swamp and unicorn plains.

Oh I've checked retail all over town in addition to the shops - still nothing.

Thought thanks for the price info. I hadn't heard any word on how much the packs were going to run. Good to know I shouldn't go over $6.

Card shops will probably be charging around $10 a pack if any of them are actually open in your area as well.

I am winning more often than not if I have a deck that isn't one of the shit piles, Terror of the Peaks is a messed up card and I aggressively Mulliganed to get it in the opening hand because very few Threats could match it/

But even "When I am winning" I am not having fun because if I have a winning deck I stomp 80% of my opponents. Just saying "YOU ARE BAD" doesn't negate my complaints.
(though maybe wizards could have built the packs more blanced)
This is my exact complaint, All of the Common ones..are the worst packs, and all have the most different forms so you can't rely on "Knowing with is in there." to build your deck. You can't pick elves and then see Spellslinger and say "Oh hey this has a Big mana damage spell that will go very awesomely with

Edit Because Double Masters stupidity.

Do you know what will feel -AWESOME- in your 15 Dollar Booster pack?

Getting a Rare that is Literally LESS THAN A FUCKING DOLLAR.

Does Terese still do card signings, considering WotC kicked her out and all? Thinking of mailing 12 cards off to get double signed at some point soonish.

I'd assume she would still do it if you mailed em to her, all else fails shoot her an email and ask her. Doubtful you'll see her at a convention again though.
