Maybe she’s pull a Ragen Chastain and “become injured” shortly before the trip, which she totally could’ve gonna through if not for her injury of course.

Chantal makes sense once you realize everything she does is meant to maintain her sanity as she approaches her 40’s with no genuine accomplishments, no family of her own, no career, no hobbies, no stability in life whatsoever. Because, you see, it’s not that bad, because she’s going on a trip next year and it’s gonna be the one to turn her life around.

she'll definitely ignore that tidbit and where she said it was a nonrefundable deposit and claim the agent made an exception because who could have predicted covid when she bought in - 3 months into the pandemic.

One could easily argue that it makes no sense to bow out because of Covid now, when the trip is seven months in the future, One could also point out that she has not displayed one iota of concern about Covid all along. She didn't even buy a mask until five months into the pandemic, and she has not worn it in a video.

But the story has never made sense from the git-go.

Exactly...she could keep on “losing weight” and hold out to see if the trip is cancelled at the last second because of covid. It’s not like she loses any money by waiting. And the trip could always go through. But no...she gave up immediately so she could have an excuse to binge and go back to “IT’S MY CHANNEL AND MY LIFE AND IDOMYFOODBUCKETLIST!!!” mukbang vids.
