I consider the leaking of DMs with PPP to be getting involved, and in a slippery way that allows him to downplay his own involvement. If he were truly trying to be neutral, he'd have shown off the alleged pro-gunt messages requesting his comment too. Right now it just looks like PPP is singularly desperate...all according to plan.

Out of curiosity, what's the specifics with consent laws when it comes to recording a private conversation and then broadcasting it live on a streaming show in this specific situation? I don't know the laws for Virginia / wherever the fuck Matt lives.

Virginia is a one-party consent state.
Washington, where Matt's Twitter bio says he lives, is a two-party consent state.
These are in conflict, which I've been told is a tricky situation to resolve. Good practice would be erring on the side of caution and using the two-party standard; we're dealing with Ethan Ralph, though, so best practices are out the window.
Perhaps someone like @AnOminous can explain how this is typically resolved.

even worse is that Ralph has some pretty high profile guests, the hosts of what's left are pretty high up in the dirtbag-socialist twitter scene, you would think they would have some pull to bring guests on. they aren't doing that much better than the killstream but their listener ship is at least in the 5 figures.
i haven't been keeping up but presumably he was able to get the old compound media Rolodex from Dick back when he visited last month because a lot of the leftists he's brought on are the ones that used to appear on compound. What's Left, Chrissy Mayr, Redscare next month. even the new right leaning guests like WATP, Mark Random, and possibly luis j gomez next month are all people that have sort of a relationship with the old compound booker who jumped over to LA awhile back.
obviously being stuck in the d-live ghetto it doesn't matter how impressive his guests have been. (plus richard spenser and milo are still the high water mark for recent guests) but you would think they would be telling people and that would increase viewership even a little bit, especially with how low views counts are now. its amazing how small dlive is that you can end up in the top viewership for the x tagged with such a small dedicated fanbase.
honestly though it doesn't matter how low the view count gets, as long as the paypigs are there. i'm still sort of perturbed by Ralph's funds though, if you look through the earnings its mostly the standard ninjet or ice cream donations from people during the show except he gets like 50% of his linos from unregistered accounts donating custom amounts on off hours or during the last hour of the show, if you look back through the last week you'll see, but its been like that for about the last year now. and i just can't come up with a theory for why. but i can't come up with a good explanation outside of ethan or gator donating to make sure the killstream account hits 10k every night and doing the same thing in off hours. the viewership has dropped by at least half since a year ago and yet its been a steady 10k every night consistently. even during the low rated midweek shows. i'd really like it if one of the other autists in the thread could explain to me whats going on there.

Bunch of people here were blocked by Ralph without even interacting with him, general theory is that Ralph is using block bot to block anyone who is following Godwinson or PPP. I followed Ralph, retweeted, liked Godwinson and PPP and nothing happened. Looks like he just randomly blocked bunch of people in tard rage, which is even more pathetic.

If the party claiming to be harmed by a recording is in the two-party state, and the state has a long-arm statute that would extend jurisdiction for such a thing, they could probably sue in their home state under their state's two-party consent law, or in federal court under diversity jurisdiction (but under state law) if that applies. I think the same would apply for a criminal prosecution, like that's going to happen. I'd be careful about recording conversations in two-party consent states without the consent of all parties. How states actually resolve these issues is often going to be a complex choice-of-law issue, and which state's laws end up applied would determine whether it could be litigated.
