The funny thing is that they absolutely could try an "off grid" lifestyle if they had a strong desire to do it and would put in the effort. There are people who live basic lifestyles out in the bush in northern Canada or Alaska. Some religious farming communes are also quite successful.

The real reason they don't is that an off-the-grid lifestyle absolutely sucks for the vast majority of modern people. Few anti-capitalists will admit that, though. Farming without modern machinery (made by capitalists) is back-breaking labour and hunting does require some skill. Farming even with modern machinery is a gamble, as bad weather can destroy all of your crops.

Unitarian Universalism is basically Homeopathy: the Religion. The closest thing they have to a creed or religious standards is something called the Seven Principles.

The weird thing to me is that they aren't even changing the context of title. They are aren't hiding the fact a sex offender is a sex offender they are just making it more unwieldy. The implication is the same and so is the identity of the subject but they are just throwing the word person before it. The only way it changes anything is to maybe remind you that the subject in question is still a person but that's such a given that the only people that would need to be reminded of the fact are soulless automatons and sociopaths.


Normal Version: Did you hear about the new neighbor? Yeah he's a sex offender that supposedly raped two kids under the bridge leading into town.

New Friendly Version: Did you hear about the new neighbor? Yeah he's an individual who previously committed a sexual based offense where he raped two kids under the bridge leading into town.

Doesn't change anything about the sentence just takes longer to say.

Honestly, society has already been evolving that way anyways; BLM-as-practiced just seems like a formalization. The most convenient aspect of the BLM packaging is that it automatically incites lower class whites to react against it - nobody, and I mean NOBODY wants to be a nigger in the US South - and then turns their reaction into justification for niggifying them. And so the zero-sum balance of power is preserved, while those minorities who have managed to demonstrate some capacity for long-term exploitation within the economic regime get to play "middle class suburbia" with all the whitebread until someone comes to steal their pensions (but hey, at least their white neighbors' pensions get stolen too, so equity is preserved!)
