Obviously this is not the sole or even main reason, but I now kinda understand why so many people working for these companies end up being radical lefties with "capitalism bad, whites are evil" takes. I mean, who wouldn't think that system is broken if he was working as editor/writer for one of the top entertainment companies and earning close to nothing?

And sure, most of them lack the talent to earn more in such positions and are hired because:
a) it will look nice in latest marketing push
b) companies save money on such hires

But its not like they are "in on this", to them it looks like they finally made it and after couple of years will get the big break. But it never comes and if they start asking questions they get quietly showed aside, while new diversity hires replace them.
 
How is JSG OG and not Capn Cummings?
I was conflicted in where to place Capn Cummings on my list but I don't regret my choice. Cummings is still too intertwined with Comicsgate drama (see the Peter Simetti swatting saga) to merit being placed in OG-CG or Ex-CG who largely ignore the movement. He also lacked any connections to The God Squad or Comicsgate™ to be placed in either of those two groups. The only connections I've seen Cummings maintain are his association to the Comicbook Hut and Jon Del Arroz, so I placed him with Jon.

I'd obviously point out that Cummings is not inherently alt-right, but rather separated on the grounds of creative differences on how the movement should conduct itself moving forward from internet muck raising on youtube. In truth perhaps Cummings belongs in none of the groups similar to the Comicbook Hut.

Well it looks like the cat is out of the bag now, time to confess.

Several weeks ago @Mister Dongs and I were approached for a cordial livestream with the SWC brothers to discuss Comicsgate and the drama surrounding it. Mister Dongs and I were both apprehensive about appearing on a stream and putting our voices out there, however I felt the opportunity was too good to just dismiss entirely.

I instead arranged for a pair of imposters to represent us, which produced what was actually quite an entertaining stream, arguably one of the SWC brothers best.

The big reveal will always be something that I treasure.
















Questions still lingered though about whether or not we were in fact the guests that appeared on the above livestream, so myself, Glenn and Mr Dickard (the imposters) arranged a confessional stream with the youtuber DA Talks. This confessional also happened to coincide with some embarrassing information that I and several of the Weeb Wars kiwis had discovered about Dean's brother, Crow, an "I Stand With Vic" Weeb Wars youtuber.

Either way I'd like to thank Thomas Roilup and Patriarchalape for the invitation and for being such fair sports about it all. I actually did appreciate the offer from them to share their platform with myself and Dongs, as opposed to the likes of Liam Gray who banned me from his youtube chat. (:_(
















For anyone who enjoyed the show put on by Glenn and Dickard, they're starting their own youtube channel which will cover everything from Comicsgate, Weeb Wars, retards on the internet, along with news and current events in a podcast format.

I wouldn't. Squeezing mouse to death part sounds like bullshit. Having experience being poor, you always get reusable traps to save money in the long run. Classic spring traps are cheap and kill mice instantly in vast majority of cases. Box traps that electrocute mouse caught in them are even better if you do not want to look at the carcass and want the mouse dead 100% of the time. Glue traps are single use, they smell, they expire, they are not as effective in certain environments, glue loses strength over time, mouse does not die instantly and mice can either escape or learn how glue smells and avoid it. I can't even imagine setting one of those in a living space. Once mouse is caught you will be subjected to constant squeaking and rustling until mouse dies. You have to be a sadist or a mouth breather to get a glue trap. And why not kill mouse quickly with a whack against a wall? Squeezing to death is just torture.
Once again, it sounds like complete bullshit. If Aubrey was poor and did not like squeezing mice to death, he would make his roommate deal with mice killing or get more humane and reusable traps. Most likely, he is just a coddled kid from middle-upper class family who never had to deal with serious troubles and he made this up for attention. If the story is true, Aubrey Sitterson is a psychopath.

Chuck Dixon is his own unique group since his exit precedes Comicsgate and his cause is, uniquely, based on veneration for authorial intent. The story goes that, like any good writer Dixon would try to write Batman true to how he perceived the character; for example Batman depicted as hating guns because one was used to shoot his parents although Dixon was personall pro-TA. Comics have always been left-of-center, and apparently critics had regularly come to Dixon with the objections that the Big Two were in the business of pumping out politically slanted agitprop but Dixon dismissed this as bias from conservative fans, falling back on his own personal experience to the contrary. This possibly naiive delusion was broken around 2003 when Marvel decided to publish a MAX series of Rawhide Kid, one of Marvel's dead line of Western-genre comic IPs was selected and remade to be campishly, flamboyantly, Sina Grace-level gay, transforming a generic western protagonist into a brightly colored assless chaps cockvortex. Dixon was flattened at hearing this as it confirmed that everything everyone was telling him, that the Big Two's respect for their own creations came second to pushing a political agenda and that all this time Dixon was a willing participant in creating left-wing propaganda and in self-denial about it. He's been self-blacklisted ever since.
Amusingly enough, Marvel created the MAX imprint to compete with DC's Vertigo. It goes to show how dumb and out of touch Marvel management was when they thought that Vertigo was nothing but edgy comics.

It can be and always was. People like Brian K Vaughan and Wachowskis started in comics, but then went on to dabble in TV and Movies. This kind of died down after mid to late '00s. Warren Ellis is the only notable one who managed to do it in recent years, but that's because Netflix has low standards. Now the go to strategy is to get an adaptation deal. It arguably ruined indie and creator owned comics market to a degree. There is a flood of movie and TV industry rejects trying to turn their scripts into comics hoping to make the script easier to sell, or hacks shitting out rushed concept pieces fishing for deals.

Comicsgate hasn't helped any by promoting shit tier books like Wart the Wizard and whatever Wenger is doing and that God awful Anna cover its just more of the same shit. Instead of rewarding skill they reward loyalty to the party. $25 bucks for TUG's sonichu book or $25 for Malin's retarded failed abortion of a comic is disheartening for anyone who understands quality and a boon to every Tom dick and Harry who see this third grade level art makings tens of thousands of dollars and thinking "hey I can do that too!"
The rise of retards like Micah and Liam hasn't proved CG is about good or better comics only that sucking van scivers dick gets you access to paypigs who will buy anything. Current CG is the perfect argument for any SJW. All they have to do is hold up a copy of Wart and say "lol this is what Ethans comicsgate thinks is good" and they are right.
CG has boiled down to a fight between SJW's living in squalor and Ethan fanboys with less than zero talent arguing about money.

The only real winners here are the doug ernsts and Tim lims who used CG to build an audience then cashed out of Ethans clown show and got as far away from him as possible.

It's more of a gamble than a smart move. There's never a guarantee that Oprah's Book Club or the NYT Bestsellers List will pick up your rinky dink book and deem it worthy of attention by the public. Same goes for any form of entertainment company that makes stuff for screens. More people watch things than read them but if you can get both done, you're set for life. But that's only if what you make is worth the effort in the first place which, let's be honest, their works really aren't.

The smart move in my opinion would be to start your own company like Yaboi did (and Todd McFarlane before him) because at least you'd be your own boss and can make your own hours and decisions. The Big 2 (or any company really) does NOT tolerate lateness, low sales turnout, insubordination, juvenile behavior or unionizing. But making your own company and brand takes hard work. And you know how these people feel about hard work. So like some kiwis said earlier, I hope the bragging and blue checkmarks were worth the mice and starvation. 🚬

Well now that Hollowood is having their icons rejected (ComicCon@Home was a bust. A convention with only panels is not a fucking convention), they're not greenlighting anything until they clean house. So now these bottomfeeders have to come up with another way to "easy" money. Agents work off a percentage, often 10% of what the client earns. No fucking agent is going to work for 10% of what a McDonald's employee would turn their nose up at.
You'd be surprised how few money many literary agents get. They have to work for years until they get a paycheck, because publishing is notoriously slow. If an agent can get 30 freelancers* to do monthlies commition, they can get decent side-gig money.


*basically extort writers and editors to work with them or else... The Heather Antoses of this world found their dream jobs. And you can see that it makes the freelance market even worse

Castlevania is horrible as an adaptation. It just changes things around for the sake of being subversive and nothing else.
If you disconnect it from the source material, it's just mediocre in my opinion. I can't ignore poor animation, mumbling, MCU-like quipping/buffyspeak, and overused cliches, but it might not bother others as much.

Well, that's not due to editors alone. In fact it's a combination of bad editors, writer's popularity, and nepotism. Even if you are a good editor serious about the job, someone like Bendis can just complain to his fans or his higher-up buddies like Brevoort. If either happens, you get into trouble and might be kicked out or demoted. If you want to keep your job, you can only stand up to someone like Bendis when you are 100% sure that higher ups will back you and Bendis won't be able to persuade them.
