I put Doug Ernst in the "OG-Comicsgate" category. Was Doug Ernst in the taxonomy somewhere? Last I recall he was pissed to be included in getting retweets of Poulter's cuck pix. Dunno what he's been up to since. I think he unfollowed a bunch of people?
The interesting thing about "OG-Comicsgate" is technically no such faction exists, they are just former sympathizers, creators, adjacents or members who in my opinion still believe in the original principles of Comicsgate, despite distancing themselves from the movement. None of the people within actively identify as "OG-Comicsgate" compared to others of different groups who do identify with Comicsgate, Comicsgate™ or Warcampaign for example.OG-Comicsgate: A collection of individualist creators whom refuse to identify with any group think or shared identity but still believe in the fundamental core tenets of Comicsgate.
Examples: Ya Boi Zack, Tim Lim, Douglas Ernst, Dug Garret, My Pickles, Skinny, The Rags crew, Just Some Guy
By core principles of Comicsgate I refer to respect for the fans, creating great products, avoiding internet drama or bloodsports and just putting their heads down and getting to work. My Pickles, Dug Garret and Skinny are old Comicsgate fans who in turn were inspired to create their own books, Vestri, Legends of the Lone Wolf and Otis Stein respectively. They focus purely on their love of comics and providing what they hope will be books their customers will enjoy, drama free.
Ya Boi Zack falls into this category also since he never gets involved in internet drama and consistently has rebuked the Comicsgate hashtag. Doug Ernst and Tim Lim offer some of the best books I have read, at incredibly affordable prices and their respect towards their customers is paramount. Tim offers easter eggs of certain fans, free of charge, without some over priced "get drawn into the book tier" and Doug's professional attitude and conduct on social media should be a benchmark all creators aspire too.
As for what Doug's been up to, he's been working on his sequel book "Black Tide" and recently went on a Warcampaign Dlive stream where he was quite well received, proving that it's hard for anyone to dislike the guy.
