The funniest part to me is no one can enforce any of this so a lot of unbothered normies are still moving to and/or traveling to New York and completely ignoring the mandate.

My pet theory is that this is his attempt to shut down the megachurch without targeting churches specifically.

Although I do feel like LA's take on this lately is becoming a languid "masks at the store and as required" but behind the scenes we're hanging out with whoever we want because we're all over this. But I also haven't gone into LA proper for a couple weeks so what do I know?

My boss and another coworker moved out of town this week.

They will not be reopening onsite locations this year. They will re-evaluate it sometime in 2021. Everyone is working remote so they are not overwhelmingly affected.

Good news today in Anchorage, there are 4 restaurants joining the defiance against the mayor's shutdown order. He intends to fine them into bankruptcy and take them to court. I hope this is the beginning of the end for his reign of stupidity, but only if even more businesses join in.

Contrary to shut-ins and freakos happy about masks, shutdowns, and misery, I've been very uncomfortable going to the stores recently now that virtually everyone is wearing a face rag. There's something about it that's unsettling, it's not just my resistance to make believe or intolerance of bullshit nonsense. It's fucking weird and gay, and every time I even anticipate having to put that shit on it makes ME feel fucking gay. I don't want to wear that fake, gay shit. So far the only place that I've "had to" wear anything is one specific government building, and there's a "letter of the law" approach at the big bars/clubs (the ones that are still open, imagine trying to make money with a 1045pm last call?) where you literally pull some shit over your face to walk in the door, then remove it immediately.

Now I'M supposed to feel like the weirdo because I'm not wearing a pad with ear hooks? It's really telling that certain establishments, like my gym which is populated almost entirely by cops and firemen, don't have a "mask" in sight. Or the local party bar, also filled with police types. Meanwhile, I'm supposed to care about wearing a douche muzzle at the retail joint. On the plus side I've yet to get any significant flak for non-compliance. Most employees are very pleasant.

He'll find a way to tie this to going to see his grandkids at the county fair and use it as an excuse to clamp down on schools harder.

That said, they updated the color coded naughty county map and we're down to less red counties. I mean, most of the state should be yellow and always should have been, by their own metrics. There's a county of 370,000+ that went from yellow to red because they went from an average 8 outpatients a day to 10 for a week. That's the nuttiness of it.

That's the point, you're supposed to feel demoralized. If this was serious, the elites wouldn't be making carve outs for themselves, they'd be bunkering down. You? You have to wear the mask, whether you like it or not.
